About Duralumin Wind
Pilot a helicopter to complete objectives across four missions as you destroy the enemy and dodge incoming missiles.

Pay attention to your helicopter's status and make sure to pick up ammunition, health and fuel in order to stay in the fight. Accessing your map and mission objective screen will help you navigate between points on the map.

The camera can either rotate with the helicopter or stay fixed in its orientation. Movement can be swapped between either a fluid gliding feel or a more rigid feel. Their is no saving mid level, instead the game automatically unlocks the next level upon the completion of the current level and saves your progress. At any time you can pull up the game options menu and customize the difficulty level.

Sadly, I didn't have a great time with this. I mean, it's cheap and it's the developer's first game so I can excuse a lot, but I couldn't get the helicopter to turn, which is a bit of a dealbreaker. I thought, ok, the cannon rotates so I'll try it anyway, I can just strafe and stuff... But the gun has a limited arc (which is fair enough) and bridges, as in the really short, flat bridges you can see in the video above, block bullets and missiles so when I found a technical that was directly North of a bridge, I couldn't kill it. Then I found a small village with some mobile SAMs, one fired missles at me so I dodged them, then they came back around again... And again... And again... I thought that was kind of weird. Stranger still is that I could shoot over the buildings which were clearly taller than the bridge I failed to shoot over just seconds prior. I died and, to be honest, had no desire to keep playing. I feel like if it had controller support I would've enjoyed it a bit more but frankly, if I thought the developer was a native English speaker I would be dismayed at the whole "Features: Twin stick helicopter shooter." Has no controller support. Is not a proper "twin stick" shooter. Still, if you can handle the relatively easy mouse and keyboard controls, it's pretty easy.4 found this helpful
An okay budget * Strike series clone - short and not much variety but still fun to relive the memories.2 found this helpful
First, the videos made this look more like the old EA Games from the Sega and Sega Saturn I think it was called Super Chopper or Jungle strike and desert strike, it was a series of games 35-40 years ago. The video flight dynamics and the actual mechanics and dynamics of flight are far clunkier and it took way too long to figure out how to get the chopper to rotate on screen as it defaults to a stupid setting that prevents rotation. The audio alerts sound grating and even at low volume it is enough to make bats fly into traffic. Also the video looks almost like it is sped up slightly (possibly just 6-15fps faster but the difference between standard home video and standard movie film speed is at least an average of 6 fps which is still perceptible to those who know what they are looking at) and that is to give the game a higher intensity feel for those of us with only a video instead of a demo to make our decision.
6/10
For a first-time, self-taught developer's first game, this is pretty good. It's what you'd expect from what is essentially a Desert Strike fan-clone made by someone learning game development. There are various difficulty settings for your preferred level of crunchiness, such as enabling fuel, for example. Can't go wrong for a dollar, if only to remind yourself of the classic Genesis game.
