What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition is praised for being a polished, content-rich entry in the series with flashy combat that makes you feel powerful, multiple campaign modes, and extensive character customization across 77 playable characters. Players note the core hack-and-slash gameplay remains familiar and satisfying, though some grinding is required for optimal weapons and the game's appeal is essentially doing the same type of battles repeatedly, with the warning that controller button layouts have some quirks in the menus.
I've always considered musou games to be the "after dinner mint" of video games. Sure you can take them seriously and increase the difficulty as you please, but you can also turn your brain off, smoke a j, drink a glass of ice cold Pebis, and slaughter army after army with Lu Bu. If you're on the fence, these games do go on sale so just wait for the next one if the price isn't for you.1 found this helpful
good
This game doesn't work.
Would recommend if you are a dynasty warriors fan and fan of musou games.
Me at the battle of Fan Castle: Hyah! Hyah! Hyah! Hyah! (*1000 guys exploding from my spear magic*) The guitars (mournfully): Peedly weedly weeeeee! Weedly weedly weedly weeeee! Waaaah! Widdly wah! Piddly piddly wah! DEEEE DOOO DOOO WIDDLY DOOO!
Make sure you keep a copy of the save files. Probably the only playable version of any DW game on steam, with a tonne of content to go through. Crazy thing is. this was the ps3 version port rather than the ps4 generation port so it looks bad even for a game released in 2014 on pc. You have to wrestle with the controller settings also.
