Eclipse Breaker

I'll recommend this game, but a bit hesitant. Not a bad game truly, in fact for a nice little 12 dollar priced game, it is a nice package. However it left me feeling very eh at the end. Story while at first actually kinda neat in terms, bytheway spoilers here: It sets up this sorta narrative of a game you haven't played in a while and you're coming back to it, but everything has changed like with how the world has been, the people NPCs (?) your character used to know now all dead... but it doesn't really capitalize on it enough. It's there in short spots, and once you get to the ending, it just feels kinda done and over with unless I missed something with not getting the very last Divine Spark. Right now I don't really feel like incentivised to go for it ether way. Now for the actual gameplay section: Neat and all with the sorta turn based action gameplay, but can become bland very quickly along with your best with just best getting a build going that mainly focuses on back attacks and triggers so that you can get some elements going and forget the rest unless you felt like pressing other buttons... Or if you're actually playing the Overkill mechanic character or the Mad Hea…

It's a fun game! The mix of turn-based and real-time combat is interesting and is quite satisfying once you get used to the feel of it. The meta-narrative of being an older game is also a cool way to tie in the art style and gameplay. I wish there was a bit more variety with the enemies, music, and stages. It is understandable given the small team that developed the game though. Overall would recommend the game to anyone who liked Hades, other action roguelikes, or even Sekiro / 9 Sols (given that combat feels rhythmic with the triggers, parries, and dodges).

I played this a fair bit, was a fun jaunt from the start to the finish. Very much "just one more round". You push as far as you can in a single run until you die, then upgrade your character with unlocks from the stuff you picked up in the run. The combat is unique and engaging with different magic and melee attacks, buncha different enemies, recommend

I was never really into RTS/Turn-Based games, which is why I scoffed at the popularity of titles like Baldur’s Gate and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. That said, Eclipse Breaker completely changed my perspective. This game makes RTS far more engaging by blending traditional strategy with active, moment-to-moment combat. You’re constantly making decisions on the fly rather than just waiting for turns. It clearly takes inspiration from turn-based systems, but it never becomes bogged down by them—and that balance is beautifully executed. On top of that, the game features procedurally generated dungeons, giving it effectively endless replayability. No two runs feel the same, and there’s always more to discover. In my book, this is an inspired and confident execution of hybrid RTS design. Absolutely worth it.

never played a game that felt more "for me" coming from the 90s, growing up with older Final Fantasy games and just wanted the ability to run around and dodge the attacks I thought my characters SOULD be able to dodge because we can SEE the enemies across from us (lol children brain) making this game a Roguelike was an INCREDIBLY smart idea giving it this addictive gameplay loop where as you keep playing you unlock more and more of the story of Ember and her crew's past which is a great story that kinda explains... "what would happen if the game kept going while you're main character had to wait for you to load back in" awesome game
