Story
In the ancient far Eastern country of Zipang, a storm is brewing. The country enjoys a period of peace and its unique culture flourishes thanks to the isolationism imposed by the great Ancient Hero, Yamato Takeru. But the heart of one lone hero, Masamune Date, burns with the fire of ambition in this seemingly content land. After coming across an young man, void of all his memories, on the shores of Zipang, she puts her plans in motion to challenge to Takeru. Should they succeed, they will force open the country's borders and begin an epic adventure filled with exotic lands, fierce battles, and new conquests!

[h1]I promise I played this for the gameplay[/h1] [h2][u]Overview[/u][/h2] [i]Eiyu*Senki Gold[/i] is most definitely a harem porn game. If, unlike me, you actually have people that may pass by and glance at your screen, you will 100% not want them to see your screen (especially with the optional patch installed). However, believe it or not, I actually did buy this game for the gameplay. It looked like my kind of game – a mix of grand strategy, tactical combat, character collectathon, RPG character builds, etc. And you know what? It delivered. Ended up being more fun than I thought it would. [h2][u]Story[/u][/h2] Apparently, this is an alternative story line to the first Eiyu Senki game which I never played, so I cannot compare. But the story is definitely pretty weak. Classic hero with amnesia, and somehow everybody wants him and he gets a large harem. However, it really comes off as parody and can be pretty funny at times. Anyways, everyone in this world is a gender-bent version of famous historical figures and legends. Neat. Kind of like Fate Stay Night, except all women. The adult patch's file browser can't view hidden folders. Meaning if you have the game installed in .locale that it can't find the game files. Even if you move the game folder somewhere else or on to a windows system the patch still struggles to find the game files. I was unable to get it working in windows. in windows using winboat, or through any other work around I use for Japanese games like this. They expect you to pay for this patch after getting the censored game on steam. Yet is one of the worst pieces of ♥♥♥♥ software I have ever had to deal with. It ruins my view of this game, as I had to pirate it in order to even view the adult content in the first place.2 found this helpful

I attempted to Invade Russia because it seemed like the weaker of the options. Cue my surprise when my biggest enemy is the extreme winter conditions which many others have fallen for. I learnt nothing from history except how to repeat the same mistakes, and needless to say, got my genitalia kicked in. This game is so historically accurate, even getting right the fact that Christopher Columbus was a big tiddy mommy gf; a fact that many other historical texts seem to forget.
