I got this game for free and figured I would give it a shot. I have always liked these types of games and usually struggle with the mechanics . I normally end up watching someone play a Total War game then sink $100's of dollars into DLC and expansions myself. In this economy I cant justify the cost. But I have to say this feels like a 4x game for dummies. It's super simple if you just suck up the tutorial and play for a few hours, it is a lot easier to get the hang of then I had expected. I only have 5 hours on but i plan to sink easily 100+ .

This is scratching the itch the Civilization franchise is leaving unscratched. This game isn't trying to farm me for cheese-DLC like that one has for far too many versions now, and it has some novel ideas and fantasy RPG elements? Skid Meier, eat your corrupted heart out and be feasted upon by demons and whatever other sorcery a player can imagine! Great game, and so far you are winning me over in spades! Just please never go the Skid Meier route! Let us enjoy your game as a cathartic escape from that BS, and keep delivering great content, because this Icelandic-Canadian is pleasantly impressed. THQ Nordic is a breath of fresh air from THQ and winning me back with this title.

If you like games that take 8 HOURS for a single session, then play this, otherwise i suggest spending your time better. Thought it looked fun and i love the new Spellforce, but man, this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SLOW and BORING beyond belief. Quality and diversity is great, but i really hate the gameplay and cant imagine anyone having fun with this.
