This game was created during my studies at Charles University in Prague. I made most of the game alone. I hope you will enjoy it! My goal is to capture 150 years of racing in a single game one day.

Engine Evolution is a multiplayer racing game that uses principles similar to World of Tanks - with each race against 11 other players, you gain experience and credits, for which you can buy various upgrades for your vehicle or unlock newer vehicles. You start with machines of 1906. Can you get to the very top and ride on modern machinery?

Controls are simplified enough to give you still the passion for riding but not too complex to take you hours to learn. It mainly focuses on giving players the best enjoyment from racing fights possible. The game's core is short, dynamic races with a high action density. The feeling from the ride is very reminiscent of older games; do not expect a hardcore simulator. On the other hand, it's not a kart racing game - there are physics, and you need to keep that in mind.

Engine Evolution 2022 feels like a project driven by a very specific idea and an unusual level of persistence, one that doesn’t try to imitate the polish of big-budget racers but instead focuses on building a long-term ecosystem around progression and competition. Developed and published by Petr Šimůnek, it positions itself less as a traditional racing game and more as an evolving online experience that attempts to trace the history of motorsport through gameplay. That ambition is immediately noticeable, even if the execution occasionally reveals the limitations of a largely solo-developed title. The moment-to-moment racing leans toward accessibility, offering controls that are easy to grasp while still leaving room for skill development. Cars respond quickly, corners demand at least some discipline, and positioning within a crowded race can make or break your result. It never reaches the depth of a full simulation, but it doesn’t feel entirely weightless either, landing in a space where players can improve through repetition without needing to master complex systems. This balance works well within the game’s structure, especially since races are designed to be short, energetic bu…1 found this helpful
