About Enid
Enid is a ¾ perspective, single-player RPG with a retro feel, wherein the player collects objects and completes tasks for their fantastical friend - an anthropomorphic fire named Enid! The core gameplay hearkens back to a nostalgic era, drawing inspiration from classic games (as well as newer indie titles) like Harvest Moon, Pikmin, Stardew Valley, Celeste, and A Short Hike. Imagine a laid-back, lo-fi exploration RPG where the player takes care of their new pal, who reveals bits and pieces of a grander and secret narrative as they help one another move forward - all this in tightly packaged, easy to play minigames! Above all, Enid is a game about exploring, collecting, solving, and progressing through manageable, bite-sized chunks of gameplay and story!

Enid, developed by Firekeepers and published by Ember’s Embrace, is a quiet, introspective indie RPG that leans heavily into atmosphere, simplicity, and emotional connection rather than mechanical depth. It presents itself as a small, self-contained adventure set in a stylized natural world, where the player’s role is less about overcoming challenges and more about engaging with a companion and gradually uncovering the story woven into the environment. From the beginning, it establishes a gentle pace, inviting players to slow down and immerse themselves in its subdued, almost meditative rhythm. The experience revolves around exploration, light interaction, and completing small tasks scattered across a modest but thoughtfully designed landscape. Players guide their character through forested areas, collecting items, assisting other characters, and participating in simple activities that serve as the primary means of progression. These tasks are intentionally straightforward, often designed to be completed quickly, which makes the game easy to pick up and play in short sessions. There is no pressure to optimize or rush; instead, the game encourages a steady, relaxed approach where e…1 found this helpful
It's a pretty nice short game just basic and fun, i really like the soundtracks and the art style of this game too i believe 20 minutes is more than enough to explore the whole game, overall it's pretty nice
It's really simple. Just wander around a forest and collect things for a little fire to eat. That's pretty much it. Very quick game.
This is a cute game. it would be nice if each area had a special thing that need to be collected to proceede because I had enough fuel to unlock everything after only opening two areas.
Can't complain at the price. Reminds me of the flash games I played as a teenager. There are some minor issues that the author should keep in mind, either as tweaks now or when making future games. Some of the maps need to be more consistent - the upper-right map is missing a path leading back to the main area, and the lower right map is not oriented correctly. The minigames are fine, mostly. The butterfly one needs a better control scheme - E is too close to WASD to be able to easily move and swing. The movement controls in the minigames could also be less awkward and more agile in general. The game overall is too easy. It is possible to complete without ever using the "next day" function. An 8-year-old might need to use the "next day". That's without the raccoon trade mechanic, which I didn't notice until the postgame. Speaking of the postgame, it's a little weird that you don't have to do anything at all with the final area - something of a pity, as it had a nice vibe and good overworld music. The sound design is quite good for a small project, but the sound effects often slightly bug out, repeating or stuttering. Some of the music for the minigames is also poorly chosen. …
