It's a great instalment of the series, with many calbacks and some good new characters. HD graphics also come in clutch. Plot quality is not the best though. Pros: - contender for the best sidekick in the series - character development for some familiar faces - maybe the only time I enjoyed Franziska's whipwork Cons: - a lot of times game doesn't trust you to make the easiest deductions and guides you by hand where it's not needed - some episodes and plot points are frustrating (don't forget about text skip feature in settings) - one of the most rage inducing villains in the series1 found this helpful
My personal favourite AA game. Amazing storytelling, much more engaging gameplay than the usual AA games. Edgeworth has the absolute best character development of any character in the series, and also is extra gay.
This is just another Ace Attorney game with all the highs and lows. Whats makes me tend towards not recommending this is that it's strictly worse than the trilogy. You should definitely play that instead. If you have, then this isn't that much worse. What really soured me about this game is that the big finale, the last hour or so, where all the loose thread are supposed to come together to a satisfying finale, was LITTERED with the absolutely WORSE writing tropes these games have to offer. It was legitimately just 10% actually interesting game, and 90% of: - All is lost! No, wait, Hold It! fakeouts - Pathos dripping drivel about how this can't be the end, and it's so important, and telling emotions - Pathos dripping drivel about this being the end, and now we've got him, and there's nothing that can go wrong
Geninuely one (er, two) of the most entertaining games I've played. Even the cases I'd consider "meh" were incredibly fun, and the cast of characters are all so charming that its worth it to see their interactions. Kay alone makes it worth its weight in gold. Pilfered riches, stolen by the Great Yatagarasu herself!! Highly recommend playing with friends, if you like doing that, because experiencing it with another person was so fun!! But even alone its a great time!
