About Escape First 2

"Escape First 2" is the second installment of a multiplayer escape room puzzle game for virtual reality or desktop PC! It includes 3 different escape rooms to choose from and can be played competitively, co-op or solo.

Multiplayer

Gather up to 6 people and play as one team that tries to solve the puzzles or try the "Versus" mode, where each player is locked alone and tries to escape the room before the others do!

Virtual Reality

The game supports full roomscale/standing tracking with motion controllers on both the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
VR is not necessary, you can play with a Desktop using keyboard & mouse / gamepad.

The Rooms

Psycho Circus Cont.
You managed to escape the clown’s quarters, but you are not free yet. Did you think it would be this easy to escape? The show must go on and you are the exhibit! Think and act fast in order to escape the circus, we all know that clowns don’t like other people touching their stuff!

The Torture Chamber
A medieval dungeon, filled with torture devices, prison cages and not many prisoners left. Hearing screams from the room next door, you know you don’t have much time left until the guards come for you. The doors are locked, is there another way out?

Behind the Scenes
While visiting an Escape Room Factory, you black out and wake up in the bathroom. However, there is one thing about this room that does not seem right, it has no doors or windows! How did you get here and more importantly, how will you ever get out?

My Experience My co-op partner and I tend to pick up these OnSkull escape room games almost automatically now (close to release), so it had been a while since I'd visited the store page on Steam. I must say I was surprised to see how negatively this one has been received, but I think I understand why. Personally, I felt that Escape First 2 was better than Curious Cases (which was better received on Steam), OnSkull's last offering. The biggest issue, in my opinion, is with the Psycho Circus level. Although the Psycho Circus level was actually the best one in the first game in this series, it is the worst one in this game and unfortunately, players will likely see it first. On the level select screen, the Psycho Circus level is the first one to the left. The puzzles are just un-intuitive and not well-explained. On two occasions, we had to consult a guide to figure out what the game was asking of us (the chair puzzle, and gleaning a code from the dolls in the case). This level was miserable, and had me questioning whether I ever wanted to play another OnSkull offering. The next level, the Escape Room Factory, is a bit better, despite the existence of a switch-box puzzle th…

A 3-in-1 package, containing three distinct escape rooms: an evil circus (“Psycho Circus 2”), a dingy water closet (“Factory”) and a medieval torture chamber (“Torture Chamber”). Other reviews have stated that game-breaking glitches or bugs may occur — I personally only encountered a single issue involving one of the large pots used at the end of the torture chamber level, but this was easily fixed by resetting the items via the in-game pause menu. Other than that, I have no real issues with the game, aside from the fact that it is quite dark (even with the flashlight you are provided). The puzzles are among some of the hardest in the Escape First series, but they are still very much doable. Would recommend to anyone wanting to tease their brain a fair bit and/or escape a rundown, dirty lavatory.

Enjoyable game, but a little dark. Each game is often lacking light and is somewhat hard to see around, even with the addition of the flashlight. There is an issue with this one with the sound as well. No matter how much I try to lower the volume, it remains quite loud. Considering I bought this game on sale for my man and me it is still enjoyable for the price.

This game is impossible to play. There are so many bugs that are just frustrating and prevent you from finishing a level without restarting the whole level. Also it launches SteamVR every time, even if not launched in VR mode.

Even finding the exit game button is a chore.

I'd like to preface this by saying that I love escape rooms and games. I'm not a novice. I tried this second one in hopes that their puzzle making skills had improved, and I was disappointed once more. Still missing huge chunks of the puzzle, like playing charades with someone who refuses to tell you how many letters and syllables there are. We're just running around in this game trying to use a directional pad with no idea how many directions need to be inputted. We keep ending up having to look up the answers just to progress just to discover that, once again, the connections between clues are loose and a huge stretch. Too many missing pieces. Might enjoy if you're psychic.
