Exogate Initiative is a management/base-building game that’ll take you from a humble rec room to the edge of creation. In the near future, a new technology allows us to travel instantly to anywhere in the universe via portals known as Exogates. An international initiative is created to develop these portals and explore the worlds beyond.
As head of the initiative, you’ll lead mankind into the vast unknown, where we never dreamed to tread.

Plan, excavate and build a sprawling underground research facility.
- Dig anywhere on the map & add new rooms and specialised equipment as the initiative grows in scope.
- Make a home away from home! You will need to provide for your team's emotional and physical needs.
- Defend your base from hostile aliens and study them to unlock new weapons
- Recruit explorers, known as ‘Gaters’ (humans or aliens), to explore and study the universe. Gaters are fully autonomous and come with a unique background.
- Unlock new classes as you play. You’ll need scientists to study flora and fauna, scholars to decipher, soldiers to keep everyone safe and more.
- Care for your team as they face the unknown. Ensure they have the right equipment, as well as food, shelter and emotional support.
- Team members will develop relationships with each other and will mourn when someone dies.
- Resist, defeat and negotiate with other factions thanks to a dedicated 4X gameplay.
- Gaters perform missions autonomously but will check in with you for crucial decisions. Interact with our explorers, make life-to-death decisions and discover endless possible outcomes
- Make contact with alien life, and write reports about your discovery to secure financing.
- Teams will return with samples that can be developed into valuable new technology. Earn money for your investors and help the initiative grow.

If you enjoy Evil Genius style base builders and/or like Stargate, Exogate is worth a look. I tried the demo on a NextFest years ago and it was not great, but trying the game now that it's launched on sale was a very pleasant surprise. The core gameplay loop is solid, the UI is functional (a bit lacking, but servicable), and the theming is great (it's like Stargate, but clearly its own unique thing, not just aping something else). Definitely 100% recommend on sale, probably even at full price.2 found this helpful
I mean it is the general hammond simulator. But the game simulation breaks after a while where no team will go through the gate so softlocks unfinishable, it also has a memory leak taking all ram on the PC, until the OS killed it.1 found this helpful
A bastard child of the Evil Genius and the Stargate.
Bouncing off pretty hard after 12 hours. Plays like evil genious without the style or pacing. 12 hours is still a good amount of fun, i've payed more for a movie ticket and popcorn.
This is a fun little game. It has a few issues but nothing game breaking just need a little patience and whenever it asks send anyway do it, my teams haven't come back too messed up. If your looking for a complicated combat this game isn't it, its very simple, fun and mindless entertainment and at that its very good. There's some micro management with equipment but its not all consuming assign suit for mission send done. There's an auto assign exo-suits button but individual armor has to be assigned but that's one and done. Overall I'm enjoying this game. Happy gaming =)
