Long ago the world of magic was separated from the natural world by Elemental Gates. One day the seal on the gates was broken, flooding the natural world with magical fae creatures once thought to be myths. The worlds merging was imperfect and much of the land was torn apart. The devastation claimed the lives of most of the population of natural and fae creatures alike. Those that survived have forged new lives in the ruins of the old worlds, but growing tension between man and fae threaten to finish what began with the opening of the gates.

A pretty good challenge as a tactical game for veteran players and most important it is enjoyable, this also applied to beginners, although there are some frustrating aspect like 100% evasion doesn't mean guaranteed miss the attack from the enemy. Go play this game if you want to itch the urge of playing new tactical game.

I want to recommend Fae Tactics, because there things to like about the game, but it suffers from two glaring problems: 1. The sprites, enemies, and scenarios are extremely repetitive. 2. The dog leader trivializes the game. One the first point, I will say that units do have a unique system of abilities that helps them be useful at different points during a fight. No matter what action you choose, there is usually something decent to do . . . but certainly not always. The enemy and sprite variety, while initially good, falls off very very hard, very quickly. You'll fight the same elementals over and over again, the same trolls and goblins with a cannon or two, and mostly the same scenarios, for too long to keep your attention. The AI is pretty dumb and even the bosses repeat themselves multiple times, with meager story "reasons" to act as why. And each individual scenario is aggravatingly long, often 3 episodes each in length and you can't save in between them. It's just not acceptable when there are similar games with much more variety at all levels. 2. The dog leader (name escapes me) is just broken if you build him right. With enough defense, proper posit…

Good game. Very mechanically dense. Having elemental advantage over enemies is incredibly important. Bosses get more complex as the game goes on so it's important to check what skills they have and so on. Funny thing I did was put the def shred scroll and mana burn jewel on Pichon and watch him shred boss's defence with his 3 hit weapon that reduces def PER HIT. Even his ult, which is one big hit, will count as a multi hit skill as shown in the animation and will reduce boss def into the negatives very easily. There's also a crazy good undead skull fae with the protector wait skill and a passive that regenerates health at the start of it's turn that has 80%(!) damage reduction as long as it's not a back attack which goes a long way in keeping your units alive. The teleport talisman also never left my spell lineup because being able to transport one unit anywhere on the map in a tactics game that gives bonus damage to height difference is really good. Especially since sniper units like Erisolde exist who only has 2 movement (unless using her 2nd weapon). Anyway fun game and really scratched that tactics itch for me.

Solid game with fun mechanics, a nice story, some challenging boss battles and more content than I thought there would be! Definitely recommend it if you're into tactics games.

if you like turn based combat strategy games, you will probably really like this game! i looove Fae Tactics. I think that it is sooo good for an indie game of its type. there are many mechanics that the game gradually introduces and incorporates into battles, so it doesn't feel overwhelming. i am someone who tends to get overwhelmed easily, and i felt pretty comfortable and confident with my knowledge and strategy in battles, throughout the game. it isn't the longest game by any means, but it's not super short! maybe like 50-80 hours of gameplay?? Pretty good! i LOVEEE the art style in this game too! it is stylized in such a cool and consistent way :) the game is not that story-focused, but the story does not feel rushed or incomplete or anything like that, imo. the characters have personality and each one has a small character story arc that you can do. the creators do a good job incorporating those arcs and incentivising you to do them i think. the main character is so cool and i love her also. i think this game does a good job at explaining why the fighting that you are doing in the game is necessary, consistently and in a relatively nuanced way that i find valuable. and …
