During a run, your mercs are exposed to the virus that takes its toll on the body. A bigger viral load undermines a merc's physical state and increases their chances of developing a mutation that could be beneficial or detrimental. Experiment to create the most viable fighter!

FatalZone fails to live up to other survivors-likes and both feels and IS an unfinished product! Made by RUSSIAN "indie" developers, this game had real potential if not for the dev's laziness and greed. It was quite a struggle doing research on them as they are perhaps ashamed to admit they are based in Russia? Nowhere do they actually state that info, you can only correlate it by tangential information like: legally-required address, (+7) country code, English/Russian languages offered on their website and that single comment about their works on VK, Telegram and Odnoklassniki (all Russian-popular social media sites). - Also their website looks surprisingly professional, even triple-A companies are put to shame! This doesn't smell "indie" at all. They boast to having 40 worldwide employees, 11 years work experience and 100+ completed games, YET only 2 REAL PC games are on their portfolio! Bunch of Free and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mobile game, this cheap $4 game FatalZone that rides the survivorslike genre boom which once again they boast having 100k copies sold and their newest title Adrenaline Rampage which looks cheap and has nothing to boast about yet. - So are they truly indie or just a belo…2 found this helpful
Bad achievement implementation. there's like 300 achievements just beating every map on every difficulty with every survivor. bear in mind each of these achievements takes you 30 minutes. and doing it on the highest difficulty doesn't net the lower difficulty ones. I know achievements aren't everything in a game but this implementation is so horrid and clearly made to keep you playing for as long as possible way past the time the game becomes repetitive.2 found this helpful
Not bad if you want to have a little fun, but be prepared to spend +300h if you want to get all the achievement the normal way, most achievements are like: using character X complete level Y on difficulty Z. and completing a level means surviving for 30 min fighting and you will lose the character if you die and all the progress (permadeath). It gets repetitive and can be pretty punishing.
A very mild thumbs up. It's fine, plays well enough, but it isn't earth shattering - just another Vampire Survivors clone but with a zombie skin and less interesting power-ups.
The core gameplay is kinda ok, but so many skills have no evolutions, many limitations, very repetitive. it's super grindy for achievements. A run takes 30 minutes (1 achievement per run, and there are 300+ of them). There is nothing to grind for. Unless you want to replay the same content for 200h just for the achievements - better skip this game. There are hundreds of better survivor-like games on steam.
https://youtu.be/94GZcR9nBM0 Heavy focus on meta progress causes many of the early runs to fall short as players are stuck in a holding pattern until enough external progress is made.
