About Fate of the Minotaur

In FATE OF THE MINOTAUR you embody the role of a human sacrifice from Athens who is sent into the labyrinth designed by the architect Daedalus. It was commissioned by King Minos of Crete to contain the ferocious Minotaur.
Throughout this 10-20 minute experience players will
  • enter the labyrinth below King Minos palace
  • navigate through it with an interactive torch to unveil the story
  • gather insights into the ancient Greek myth by encountering key characters and narrating murals
  • solve user-friendly puzzles
  • decide the fate of the Minotaur in a final confrontation
Play by navigating through the scenery and interacting with your controllers.
We carefully minimized motion sickness through vignettes and seamless level transitions. A guiding thread will help you if you get lost.

Development background information

  • In a unique approach, this content can be experienced in different immersive scale options, depending on the technical and physical limitations of the location presenting the experience.
  • From a technical perspective, a novel engine-agnostic and flexible open-source virtual production framework was used to realize the multiplayer network aspect of the game.
  • This is the singleplayer only version. The 8x8m free-roaming or controller-based setup for up to 4 players is currently only to be played on-site at conferences/trade fairs.
  • Our stylized visual approach is inspired by ancient Greek murals and vases, allowing us to provide the experience with a small footprint in energy consumption and required equipment.

Index User: Art style looked nice. But sadly, just another VR experience with no compatability for tethered headsets. No turning via joysticks. Completely reliant on one's ability to free roam. If there is an update that adds the nessesary features for tethered headset play, perhaps I'll be able to enjoy more than 0.1 hrs of their gameplay. Also my in-game hands look like a childs hands. Not sure if that was intentional.
