About iGuide Knossos VR
iGuide Knossos aims to enhance the user’s experience as a “digital” visitor to archaeological sites and monuments. Through the detailed 3d reconstruction of the monument based on Arthur Evans’ drawings and illustrations, the visitor is offered a first person navigation in the original form of the monument from any place, at any time.
Guide your way through the adventure! Rebuild and unearth the past of Knossos where historical myths of rivalries between gods and mortals, like those of King Minos and the Minotaur’s labyrinth took place:
The subject of the tour’s animations is based on (a) social, such as the everyday life of the monument’s inhabitants, (b) historical, e.g. construction, destruction or excavation and (c) mythological elements.
iGuide Knossos seeks to create a digital cultural reference point, by expanding our cultural assets to a global audience of varying interests and ages. It combines entertainment and education in an accessible and fun way for a wide audience of visitors while also developing a detailed tool for researchers.

What an excellent reconstruction of KNOSSOS! Congrarulations to the developers for this great idea and work you have done! Very nice to see the building as (we believe) it was in the Minoan times. Also nice narrations in greek/english that binds us with the history of the plase. At the period when Greece was building 3-storey palaces with sanitation, the rest of Europe was living in caves and straw houses while they were eating raw meat! Greece is the light of the world, and if this light dies then the world will die too.5 found this helpful
This is a stunning labour of love and knowledge! Having just visited the Palace, I can appreciate the painstaking attention to details in reconstructing this true labyrinth. A few graphics glitches cannot stall the experience, enriched by very clever ways of telling the (hi)story and comparing to today's archaeological site. A must-have for all fans of history, architecture, archaeology, and of the stunning Minoan civilisation. Superbly done, VR at its best!!! (By the way, it works on my WMR-based Reverb G2 using Revive, so not just for Oculus...)4 found this helpful
