Okay i just got this game on sale yesterday for $1.49 and was excited to try this game out as i am a big fan of The Zombie/Survival/Horror genre. Resident Evil is still my #1 favorite Of this genre. Here is a list of my likes about this game. 1) I like the visuals. The graphics are nice and done very well. 2) The sounds and the musical score are done very well also. The musical score is very creepy and matches the games environment very well. 3) The game runs well on the Steam Deck and should be listed as Steam Deck Verified. Now here are my dislikes about the game so far. 1) There's no camera control. The game just has that one fixed position and only changes as your character changes direction. This is a good game so far but would be a whole lot better with camera control. 2) So far the few puzzles i've solved makes no sense and i only figured them out by randomly messing around with items found. Here's one example. After finding a bucket, your immediate thought is to use that bucket to scoop up water from the tub with the broken water pump so you can put out the fire in the fireplace but you cannot. Later on i discovered simply by messing around with the bucket by the fireplace…3 found this helpful
Really cool story and gameplay from my first hour but an infinite heartbeat after being grabbed, being grabbed a separate time in a doorway and accidentally closing the door during the grabbing froze me in place without being able to die. Personally annoyed with the laundry room saying locked but not laundry room so I had to try the key on every door I could find until it randomly opened one. If you're ok with a glitchy game that has a lack of directions/instructions then the gameplay and story is a good experience. I feel like $6 on sale is still a bit expensive in comparison to other games. 5 or 6 out of 10 P.S. Fixed both glitches separately by reloading my last save. Apparently it goes lower then $6 on sale sometimes so I will be waiting for a better price. I usually check better but I bought too many at once.1 found this helpful
Deserves more positive reviews, its a good RE clone. For survival horror fans, this game offers everything you want. 2 campaigns, resource management, limited inventory, ominous story, good level design, etc. Its not perfect, and performance can be hit or miss, but overall the game is holding up great so far.
I think 30 dollars is too much for a a game that needs a lot of work in all areas, the menues, the camera angles, the voice acting, the animations, but most of all the ambient, it is very bad. The music is too generic and doesn't work to make the ambience of horror. The sounds in general are vert bad, even in the cut scenes the voices of the characters change volumes when according to the camera, making it harder to understand what they are saying. It's a shame, I think the game is on the right path but needs a lot of work.
I want to start off with the things I felt where cons... -Cant stack ammo at all (you have 3 bullets and 5 bullets? to bad that takes up 2 slots) -Poor translation (this made solving some puzzles harder then it should have) -One other thing that was more of an annoyance was that at times doors would open or be blocked off at random with no real indication, so it was a hunt to find out where to go sometimes. -The attempt was decent, but at times the story did not make sense, even in its own world (could be the translation) but I got the gist of it. That said, the game was a good play, but not enough to make me want to play as the father, I just wanted the other endings on you tube. The ambience and sound effects where pretty good, and the atmosphere over all was great. Few games make me want to close a door after me... this one did just that. If you love horror games and don't mind some "jank" give the game ago, you will like it. I would love to see this game get a "remaster" of sorts, better VA, cut scenes, and translation would all bring this game to a better state.
I guess you could call this a survival horror experience, but it's a boring one. Just a very boring puzzle box with some uninteresting enemies. The amount of content and a functional game is good work for such a small developer, but not a fun game, sadly.
