What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
I wish Steam had a third rating option between thumbs up and thumbs down, such as "OK" or something mostly conveying neutrality. I'm giving it a thumbs up because it's fine, nothing wrong with it, I suppose. Not the best renders in the world, but far from the worst. There is an actual story, as well as multiple endings, so that's something, though the pathways are pretty obvious and not too involved. The completionists out there might want to grab this on sale, if you want another "Perfect Game" in your tally. Simple fun if you have an afternoon to whittle away.7 found this helpful
Forbidden Dojo is a narrative-focused visual novel from JellyFluff Games that blends fantasy themes, martial arts inspiration, magical settings, and branching storytelling into a choice-driven experience aimed at mature audiences. Rather than focusing on action-heavy gameplay systems or demanding mechanical challenges, the game places narrative progression at the center of the experience, encouraging players to shape outcomes through decisions and character interactions. Its strongest appeal comes from building an atmosphere where story development and relationship choices drive progression forward. The premise introduces players to a world built around mystery, martial traditions, and supernatural elements where personal choices gradually influence how events unfold. Like many visual novels, Forbidden Dojo focuses heavily on dialogue and story progression rather than traditional gameplay systems. The experience revolves around conversations, decisions, and exploring narrative paths that reveal different sides of both the world and its characters. Choice systems serve as one of the game's core mechanics. Decisions influence relationships and determine how certain situations evolv…
I enjoyed the game, I would think to buy it on sale. The story was good , but i think the H scenes could have been better
Pretty cool.
This is one of those "maybe if it is on sale" type recommendations. For the hard core AVN folks, I would say maybe try it free before you buy, otherwise pass on it. For the others, I think it is deep discounted now so maybe you might want to try. Pretty simple story, very little character development, the "action" is not controllable, and as one very good reviewer said, just a lot of unnecessary screen after screen dialogue that doesn't add any thing and just seems to make the game appear longer. Except for the end third choices don't really matter-- I did need to use the guide for the last 3 achievements which were not logical to achieve (I like achievements that test but are fair); while the others occur from just playing the game. The renderings are ok, the xxx scenes pretty standard nothing to bad but not outstanding either. I finished because once I pay for a game I generally want to finish it. I was interested in the ending and accomplishing the goals of keeping the witch from ruling the universe. Although the MC is not given a lot of control, and somethings and decisions I would not have made, I did want to finish. The developer left possible sequels, but since this game is …
