[h3] I'm currently doing a challenge to play through a free game in every single category on steam. I then give an honest review using ChatGPT. But that’s where any semblance of coherence ends. Turning down a hallway triggers a screen-fuzz effect and a prompt to press “H” for a hint. The problem? The hints are incomprehensible because every menu shakes and blurs, making the text unreadable. Maybe it’s an intentional design choice, but it just feels broken. After some aimless wandering, a bed inexplicably appears. Sleeping on it teleports you to a strange new area, complete with what might be a gun—if shooting lasers counts. The environments change as you stumble forward, but the map's pop-in range is so short that objects appear two feet in front of your face, ruining any potential immersion. At one point, I found myself in a forest, heard a scream, and was seemingly attacked by... something? I turned around, but there was nothing there. While there's no up front price for this asset flip, the other problem with asset flips is that when developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, it's also true they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either. That's definitely true for "Forgotten Dreams", and this kind of asset flipping never results in games that have quality or value for PC gamers. In this case the assets are arranged, well, creatively. That doesn't mean they're arranged well... just creatively. This is a "more art than game" "experience" where you teleport through various environments... why, nobody knows.
