This early into EA, and the game is phenomenal. Absolute improvement over Blackshard, and that was already one of my favorites. The number 1 thing I appreciate most about what they've done is the inclusion of more color, and not just sparse instances of it. It's a solid blend of both brutalist geometric look from Blackshard and one that's more organic and asymmetric in nature. It's a nice break from the far more monochromatic look Blackshard had. It feels more lived in with natural processes still taking place. Going through that first world/realm after the initial intro level, they really nailed down the sense of scale with things. That first look down into the valley drives home that feeling of being a speck in an absolutely colossal place. I'd say the meshing of the brutalist megastructure architecture with those more natural/organic forms and colors does a lot to break up the environment and sell the sense of scale better than Blackshard did. If anything, I find it more aesthetically pleasing. We'll see if this continues to be the case with future updates as more realms/levels are released. As far as performance, I haven't had any issues with it. Smooth as butter, even for …

the game is incredibly slow, even after lowering all graphic settings its still like you're trying to plow through syrup. you have walk, fast walk and run. but its much slower than all other games. there are probably a lot to discover here but I its not enjoyable due to slowness.

Amazing sequel to Blackshard, which I loved. This is shaping up to be just as good or better! Great dev team.

The atmosphere of this experience brings a sense of wonder, awe and a need to poke one's nose into every single corner or crevice, because there is an abundance of hidden areas, nooks and crannies etc..... ( Which, I'm sure, will be filled with all sorts of easter eggs or bonuses such as hidden zones ). The entire City area brings about a deep feeling of peace and happiness alongside a creeping nervousness which slowly simmers in the back of the mind as the lore is revealed. Coupled with what knowledge is gained from ' Black Shard ', it's sister game, This is truly a masterpiece already, despite a few no-clip areas I've come across.

Hypnos is a semi continuation of Black Shard of which Im a continous cheerleader for. Maybe the best visual gaming experience yet for those of us not interested in blowing everything up and shooting everyone. As with the first one in the series, It is designed to be frustrating just to figure out how to get to places you can see but cant touch. It is a place of constant mystery and art combined with never ending vertigo that lends to the sheer size of the place. Im working with an older graphics card that is no longer supported but I can still get around. Will be playing this again when I get a new system so I can enjoy it in its full glory. Notice I used the word series. This means the dev team behind this amazing work have no choice but to continue making these games for us. Keep up the good work. My need to explore depends on it. That was my positive review before running into a fatal flaw. After all the running around I went back to the cat/god area only to find out that Im stuck there with no way to return. So now all that progress is lost and I have to start a new game....SUPER PISSED
