The game has a cute quality to it, and the brewing/crafting thing is actually a charm point of the game, but the lack of care in design and bad planning totally kill the game. My reason for the thumbs down are pretty much the same like the others with a few extra points.. [1] Right from the start of the game when the speech dialog pops up i am shaking my head. Normally, Text font gets the lower bit count in quality while the game graphic gets the higher end... this game does the opposite, the dialog part spoils the whole retro 8bit feel of the game... also shows that the dev doesn't really care for details.. further into the game this has become obvious... [2] The Spikes/Crystals that hurt the game character is blended right into the background... we are playing a platformer here, not playing spot the hidden object game. So why should a background looking piece of prop has the ability to hurt the game char? [3] The AI of the monsters are badly coded and doesn't even fit and move according to the landscape of the game, this shows the dev didn't really have the skill to code and rely on 3rd party source. Frenzy Plants is a basic 2D retro pixel platformer slapped together using Unity Asset Store templates, polluting the Steam store and driving down the average quality of video games everywhere. The game has you guiding a bunny girl through a number of platformer puzzles with a retro pixel forest tileset, carefully ripped from some Unity Asset pack. The best thing I can say about this "game" is that they really did try to make a game, but without any knowledge or skill, so they just slapped a bunch of Unity assets together. This is what those kinds of assets are for, rather than just blind copy and paste, but arranging them carefully. So it's got that going for it, which is nice. On to the problems, and there are many, and they are severe (what do you expect from a "developer" copying and pasting Unity assets to try to make a game without really knowing how?) The use of deplorably bad quality pixel "art" is understandable here, the developers lacked talent/budget to arrange proper PC graphics, so they used pixel "art" to cover their inadequacies. The game maps PC gaming peripherals (HOTAS, Pedals, Racing Wheels etc) as if they are console peasant children's toy gamepads. …2 found this helpful
