This is an odd one to review cause I don't think I can truly separate it from the previous game. I think they work best as compliments to one another because they both have very different strength and weaknesses. I think this one has a lot of fun moves, but at the cost of less distinct level designs due to things like double jumps making a lot of stuff not as difficult. I do miss the camera from the previous game, I like looking around to get a good idea of where I am going. I didn't play the multiplayer which I imagine probably is why the camera is the way it is. I think where I ultimately land at is the first frogun is a more frustrating and the moment to moment feels clunkier, but it is also more interesting and distinct. I would recommend playing both, but honestly if you only wanted to play one I think that one is more interesting. This one is more consistent though if you don't want to deal with frustrating platforming, and is probably easier overall (I 101% it, getting collectables that aren't actually tracked as well). It also fixes some balancing things like frogun 1 has an insane amount of grinding to 100% it.
Forced camera feels weird after the first game, but there were only a couple spots where it was a problem. Overall I liked it. Maybe not quite as good as the first one, but certainly good enough. Definitely easier and shorter, but I didn't really mind. The new abilities are nice.
Fun time challenge, collecting, and tight platforming.
The first game didn't quite nail the gameplay experience for me, but I really enjoyed all the low poly visuals and vibe it had, so gave this a shot and it was some good fun, abit snappier, felt more enjoyable to go through. Good to play if you want some old school platforming fun.
Shorter than the original, better than the original.
Pretty fun game. a lot like teh first one but a bit faster which espically twaords teh end was much needed and you spend less time stuck in one enviroment which makes teh game feel a lot fast (on top of the clearly increased move speed), shorter and more compact.
