This one checks all the boxes of a standard survivors game and follows the established template and formula. At the start you can only choose the single available character, while the other three unlock as you complete stages. The only real difference between characters is their starting skill, so most of the customization revolves around more than forty pets. Your first run is also limited to the first available pet. Unlocking the rest does not depend on progression but on luck, as they can drop from defeated enemies. Each pet has either a passive or active skill along with a perk that changes its behavior. Some pets attack from range, while others do not attack at all and instead provide support. There are six possible perks, and you can equip up to three pets at a time. Your final choice before starting a run is the map and one of four difficulty settings. Higher difficulties make enemies stronger, but they also increase rewards and the pet drop rate. There are four maps in total, and you must beat the first one to unlock the next. The objective is to survive for ten minutes and defeat the boss. The stages are well designed, with unique enemies that grow stronger the longer …

Needs some proper handheld optimization, but the bones here are great, similar vibe to Megabonk.

Fast runs and a great horde-clearing feel, with lots of room to experiment with builds. At first it looks simple, but once you start stacking enchants things can get pretty wild.

The gameplay feels satisfying, and there are tons of builds to mess with. Once you start experimenting with skills + enchants, it gets really addictive. Overall a solid 3D survivor-like game.

FuwaFuwa Survivors is a colorful and energetic roguelike action game developed and published by the Japanese indie developer 開墾魂. It belongs to the increasingly popular “survivor-style” subgenre of action games, where players face endless waves of enemies while gradually building an increasingly powerful character through randomized upgrades. While the basic structure may feel familiar to players who have experienced similar titles, the game sets itself apart through its cheerful aesthetic, whimsical characters, and a gameplay loop that emphasizes accessible chaos over punishing difficulty. The result is a fast-paced and visually playful experience that thrives on short sessions, experimentation, and the thrill of watching a once fragile character evolve into a screen-clearing powerhouse. At its core, the gameplay revolves around surviving continuous enemy waves within a confined battlefield while collecting experience gems and power-ups scattered across the map. Players control their character with simple directional movement, while most attacks activate automatically or on cooldown timers. This design shifts the player’s attention away from complicated button inputs and instead …

This game clearly takes inspiration from Vampire Survivors and Megabonk, and to its credit, it does add some real value to that formula. The 3D presentation works well, the gameplay feels smooth, there’s a good variety of skills, and the shorter runs are a welcome change compared to VS’s 30-minute sessions.
