Gahkthun of the Golden Lightning Steam Edition

First of don't mind my play time, I had to play it without using the steam launcher because the game is bugged otherwise. Now, to the review. This story has an interesting setup but it also insists on dragging out everything ten times longer than it has to. It let's setups hanging forever and what could be said in 2 sentences gets stretched to 10, it is really hard to keep reading it for longer than just a bit. But the killing blow is what I like to call ''Why the ♥♥♥♥ did you put your creepy rape fantasy in there'' Syndrom that way too many japanese mangas and visual novels have. No, this does not deserve a spoiler tag. And no, the tentacle rape scene was not done because it was necessary for the story, it is obvious to anyone that saw the scene that the it is simply there because some creep on the team had a some complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up fetish. I cannot even begin to express how little point there is in that scene existing for the story. There is genuinly not even the shred of a doubt that it's in there because someone in the team was really into ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up tentacle rape. I'm quite neutral on this one. The setting is absolutely marvelous, the art is stunning, the music is great, the VA also. I think the prose is wonderful. But the characters and story didn't really do it for me. Tesla and Neon weren't great main characters. The different chapters followed the same formula so there were no real surprises. I wanted to love this VN because it has so much going for it but it is lackluster. That being said, I will try to read Inganock and Sharnoth because the world of this series is simply wonderful.
