Galaxia Conquestum

Galaxia Conquestum is an interesting twist on the old vertical scrolling shmup concept. The developer added a simplistic strategy game front end. Choose which planetary system to attack and then switch to the shmup mode. Defeating the level captures the system. While the concept isn't the worst, the implementation is very lacking. The graphics are really primitive, halfway between retro pixel and "I don't know how to art". The shmup mode is ultra pillarboxed which makes it look terrible. Equally poor is the gameplay itself, the game is sluggish and slow moving and badly balanced. There's far better shootemups out there, I can't recommend this over almost any of the others.

There are 2 modes for playing this game. One that doesn't really require any thought as the game will do the fighting for you. The other mode is the standard dodge and shoot. This game is OK for little kids but otherwise I got bored really fast. If your under 12 or buying this game for someone else of that general age then I'd recommend this game.
