Great space role play like in the early days of the internet.
Cool and fun adventure with lots of refs for the nerdy geek culture and for fans of space operas. Good to pass the time with. Not a try hard game. Great design, music and concept The story is not the best.
Knights grew up, got a spaceship, stayed sarcastic.
If you enjoyed Knights of Pen and Paper, Galaxy of Pen and Paper +1 Edition feels like coming back to the same table - just with a slightly bigger map, a few new house rules, and the GM still insisting that the fourth wall is “more of a suggestion, really”. The story keeps its irony intact, gleefully winking at you while pretending it absolutely isn’t. The combat is a neat twist on the classic formula: you can essentially “arrange” your opponents and take them on in sequence. Piling on more enemies is deliciously tempting - higher risk, higher reward - like deciding to fight three goblins at once because you’re feeling brave, and then remembering you are not, in fact, brave. Space battles also stick to the classic vibe, but run on their own distinct flow, which helps them feel like more than just “the usual, but with stars”. It’s not a visual leap over the predecessor - the graphics don’t really evolve - but it’s oddly forgivable, like a beloved old miniature that still looks great from tabletop distance. What does evolve is the variety, and that feeds a strong replay value: different fights, different approaches…
This is great pixel art gaming. I had fun playing it. Pen & Paper Gaming +2
too much downtime
Star Trek it is. Star Wars it is not. Roll dice. Buy meta-upgrades. Journey the infinite cosmos because you forgot where the quest marker is. Save the Galaxy before sundown because your mom is making spaghetti tonight.
