蟲 (2026)

蟲 is an incredibly unusual puzzle game because it makes my desktop and an old internet experience part of the actual mystery. I start with a malfunctioning desktop pet and gradually find myself digging through a fictional news website from around the millennium era. I really liked the concept because it feels like I am investigating a forgotten piece of digital history rather than simply exploring a normal game world. The embedded simulation design is the most interesting part for me. The game presents itself like a piece of software or an old website, and I have to investigate strange messages, errors and hidden information to understand what is happening. I enjoyed the process of clicking around and following clues because the interface itself becomes part of the puzzle. It makes the experience feel surprisingly immersive. The mystery revolves around the millennium bug and the stories surrounding the strange events I uncover. I liked how the game mixes technical ideas with human stories instead of turning the subject into a purely abstract puzzle.
