Ghostship Chronicles

At £20 this is ludicrous. The gunplay and graphics are mediocre at best and this is sadly the most praise I can give it. Teammate AI is barely existent, they either run head first into all of the enemies before you get a chance to shoot them or get up close and personal to you so you can't see anything. The zombies are laughably bad too, waving their hands in the air like they just don't care. Plus all the battles follow the same formula, clear a hallway and room then a horde appears. Can only agree with previous reviews of this game. The concept for this game is great, the atmosphere is very good, the game graphics look good for what it is. This game made me think of the Event horizon movie and good game based on that would be awesome. But a lot of the sound effects are awful, they do not sound good at all. Especially the sounds from weapons. And the controls are wonky. You move way too slow as if you were stuck in jelly and your ai teammates run around like idiots. And it lags a lot in this game. In chapter 7 i got stuck 5-6 times just because the quest didn't work. Could not find the last enemy, so could not finish the mission. And ai teammates got stuck everywhere and stopped following me. So can not recommend this game, but if you realy want to try it out, buy only if it is on sale.

This game is great, and continues to get better with each update. Ghostship Chronicles is the third instalment of the Ghostship Trilogy, but it comes first in the series' timeline. CDF Ghostship and Ghostship Aftermath are set on board the ageing dreadnought, "Goliath", but this game is set a year before CDF, on a different ship, the "Heckel & Thomas", a long-lost colonisation vessel that has been found drifting in deep space. Ghostship Chronicles was originally my least favourite of the trilogy - not because it's a bad game, but because it's the most straightforward of the three games - but it's continued to grow on me the more I replay it, and at the time of writing, the developer (edit - the one and only developer on this game!) is still adding more and more content to the game. With the recent introduction of Dr. James, a relentless unkillable pursuer (think Mr. X or Nemesis from Resident Evil) and multiple difficulty modes, hard mode is a real fight for survival on the ship! I liked this one. I felt it was very immersive and easy to play. There was a lot of loot and a satisfying amount of weapons. Graphics were awesome. The entire game took place on the ship, so don't expect a ton of different locations. I like that sort of thing, but people who do not should look into it further. Most importantly, the squad did not detract from the experience, though the option to go through alone would have been great. I just completed my first run through this game and found, for me, at least, the effect of being trapped in a hopeless situation came across as intended. That one man did this is remarkable--well done! This is the best of the three Ghostship games, in my opinion. My only complaints are the screen tears a bit here and there and, for whatever reason, the player's objectives are plastered on the screen with apparently no way to remove them. A simple toggle option would help tremendously. The developer is still on this project, I think, so one can only hope. It did feel a little short, but I played it often; perhaps I just blew right through it. I really wanted to like this game. I always thought the Ghostship games looked cool. Yeah they do look cool but man playing this actually made me mad after a while. It was cool at first and I was getting kind of immersed but then I encountered the horrible inventory controls. Changing weapons is such a chore. And then I encountered the half naked cheerleader enemies on a derelict space ship and all immersion was immediately ruined. Also there is literally no AI besides go straight towards the player and swipe with melee. There's tons of enemies but they all just walk in a straight line towards you and do their single attack. Also half the enemies are short as ♥♥♥♥ and there's barely any hit feedback so you're just shooting either lumbering slow moving enemies that walk straight to you. Or tiny little enemies that you can barely shoot running straight to you. I LOVE JANK GAMES but naaah this one is just not it, I'm sorry.

No. Great setting but gameplay is just............not good. Too dark things attacking you from all sides and non stop.
