About Goblins of Elderstone

Goblins of Elderstone brings a unique and chaotic twist to the city-building genre - it’s a Goblin Tribe Simulator! Are you ready to embrace the chaos of goblin life? As the leader of a goblin tribe, it's up to you to build, manage, and defend your village against all odds and even the goblins themselves. See to their growing needs to keep them from rioting and make sure the pantheon of gods is appeased to succeed.

Free-form City Building

Goblins don’t much like orderly straight lines, so there’s absolutely no way they’ll use a grid when building. They are rebellious but creative. As a result, buildings go up wherever desired, but neat little pathways and bridges will always be built alongside them to ensure they’re properly connected.

Assign your Goblins

With over 30 different resources that can be gathered, crafted, traded, or stolen, your goblins will always have plenty of work to do. Assign goblins to jobs based on their personal traits - good or bad - and employ Enforcers to keep them in line!

Survive the harsh winters

Danger lurks around every corner. Defend your tribe from roaming monsters, skeletons, and other enemies by assigning guard goblins, hiring wandering heroes, and appealing to the gods for help. And if that doesn't cut it, your goblins will be more than happy to hide indoors until the threat passes!

Explore and Raid

Send your goblins to gather loot all over Elderstone with Raids, a brand-new system replacing the old Treks. Raids are punchier, faster, and far more connected to your village’s survival.

Build your ultimate Tribe!

Marvel as your village grows and expands. There are many unique tales to unravel in this twisted land, and you will be asked to make difficult choices throughout your reign that will either help or hinder your progress.

Rule the Chaos!

Goblins aren’t really the patient, caring type. They’re better at setting fire to farms than actually growing anything. As your tribe expands, you will need to fulfill your goblins' needs and wants to ensure they survive and - hopefully - thrive!

✦ AI summary

Players are divided on recent updates, with some praising the game's customization and cozy gameplay, while others express frustration that version 2.0 removed features that made the game enjoyable—particularly the ability to customize starting conditions and the randomizer that ensured playable maps. Common complaints focus on broken balance mechanics, tedious resource gathering, pointless raid systems, poor tutorial quality, and goblin happiness being nearly impossible to achieve even with adequate supplies, making the game feel linear and unplayable compared to earlier versions.

122 hours played, I would have recommended it before 100%, not now 1. The immersion is not longer there, they just drop you into it, before you could chose your gods try to get a map you want but now you can't. 2. It feels like I don't have a choice, I know not all games give you a choice but now it's play how they like mainly one path and its broken. 3. The game is broken, before the randomizer was great, It help with unplayable map generation, now they just give you the map and you have to hope you get a good one. 4. It's just unplayable now if they make the 1.0 version a new game I would buy it, this game it's unrecognizable in a bad way, and I feel like the thing they removed to "fix the game" were the ones making the game fun, and the balance it's straight up broken as you could not win it. It was a fun game but now It is not worth it, the old version was really immersive and fun now it's non of the above.

2.0 did change a lot and not for the better, but I liked the way raids used to work. Now it randomly picks goblins never to be seen again and for trivial resources making raiding seem way too costly and pointless. Some resources don't respawn enough making the only way to get them, is by buying them from the merchant. The balance seemed really off like I had the resources but the goblins wouldn't do anything because they weren't happy enough even though I had everything, I dunno if it was because time was too fast or they walked too slow, but it could take an entire season just to walk across a few tiles and back to get one resource. This was one of my favourite games and I want to keep loving this game because goblins, it was great despite the bugs, but 2.0 broke it.

I have been playing this game on and off since it came out. Had to take a long break from playing it due to needing a new pc. The game has had issues from the begining yet a lot of charm that came with it, I was hoping that as the game developed the issues would be resolved. Yet having played the newest version of the game, it's clear that the game play has worsened and all charm has been removed entirely. The options and uniqueness that the game used to have for set up has all been gutted out of the game, the turtorial has declined and is incorrect. I only managed to survive playing having previous knowlegde of the game and could there for see the game mechanic issues built into the current version of the tutorial. This is a game I used to speak fondly of despite all it's issues. It is no longer a game I'd recommend. Save your money and get something like Knights of Honor instead.

Cozy, fun, can never survive the skeletons above year 50 so the builder mode it is! I feel like I managed to unlock everything and SOMEWHAT manage the perky goblins to at least 50-60 satisfaction :'))) and keep them alive in a mode where they don't get attacked. Playing survival AND keeping them happy is mission impossible for me so on 4th run I went full cozy mode with no attacks involved. I see a lot of reviews complain of bugs or whatever but I didn't notice much except this one thing. I have this problem where I have 60 goblins but warrens enough for 100 goblins but they are still unhappy because they are overcrowded. I feel like it is a bug or somewhat problem it keeps telling me to build more but isn't this enough? Other than that love the game.
