Gobs and Gods is an indie tactical role-playing game created by the small development team of Alexandre Gilotte and Thierry Gilotte, released independently without a traditional publisher. The game blends turn-based tactical combat, roguelite progression, and humorous fantasy storytelling into a single experience that focuses on leading a chaotic tribe of goblins who believe the player is their divine ruler. Rather than following the typical heroic fantasy narrative where players command noble warriors or legendary heroes, the game embraces a more absurd premise: you are treated as a god by a group of mischievous goblins whose loyalty is unwavering but whose competence is often questionable. The story begins when the player suddenly finds themselves in a strange fantasy world populated by goblins who quickly assume that the newcomer must be a powerful deity. From their perspective, your arrival fulfills ancient beliefs about a god who will guide them to greatness. Unfortunately for the goblins, their “divine leader” is not necessarily prepared for the responsibilities of leading a tribe. This game makes me think of Battle Brothers with Monty Python humor. Hilarious and fun to play, solid game would recommend.

Everything about this game is so charming. You can tell that the people who made this game love and hate goblins in all of the right ways.

there are reviews here that do this game justice, but positive scores are agglutinitive, j'adore le jeux c'est parfait - So many gobs tragically died already. but always more come to lay down their lives. all life is only temporary. on steamdeck it works well enough, too.

If you enjoy Battle Brothers, you'll probably enjoy this game too. The similarities are pretty apparent, but Gobs and Gods obviously has a more humorous setting. It also feels more forgiving than Battle Brothers.
