I stand corrected: there are outright terrible Nannings games, and this is one of them. Have any fond memories of Ninja Roping your way through Worms Armageddon stages? Have you booted up Grapple Dog or any number of Metroidvanias with a grappling hook traversal upgrade? Then do yourself a favor and give this one a 10-foot radius. Simply put, this is a grappling physics collectathon/obstacle course: my attention was piqued as a veteran Ninja Ropester. Based on the few people that have professed to playing this, the controls are better in the free browser versions, but that ain’t saying much: the feel and consistency/predictability of your movement here is atrocious. Targeting just feels awful, and there’s bonus issues with respawn input lag. Avoid even if bundled, even if free.5 found this helpful
this game would be good for a kid under 7 years old, it practices timing, coordination, intuition and its very colorful3 found this helpful
Step into the role of a fearless cowboy adventurer and prepare for a journey where survival depends entirely on your mastery of a remarkable grappling whip. In Grapple Whip, every leap, swing, and daring maneuver becomes part of an exciting test of skill as you navigate a world filled with dangerous obstacles, hidden treasures, and increasingly demanding platforming challenges. Armed with nothing more than your trusty whip and quick reflexes, you must travel through a series of carefully designed levels where one wrong move can send you plunging toward danger, while a perfectly timed swing can carry you to victory. The adventure revolves around a unique movement system built entirely around grappling and momentum. Rather than relying on traditional platforming mechanics, players use their whip to latch onto designated anchor points scattered throughout each level. Once attached, the whip becomes a tool for movement, allowing the cowboy to swing across vast gaps, launch himself through the air, and reach locations that would otherwise be impossible to access. Success requires more than simply attaching to a target. Players must understand momentum, timing, and positioning, learning…1 found this helpful
cool
It’s disappointing to see how poorly the Steam version of this game performs compared to its earlier iterations on Newgrounds and Game Jolt. The responsiveness is a major issue—clicks frequently fail to register, even when the cursor is clearly on target. At times, multiple clicks are required just to get any kind of reaction, and in some cases, nothing happens at all. This leads to frustrating moments where you fall all the way down, desperately clicking to grab onto nearby targets without success. Timing-based levels, like 19 and 20, amplify this problem, making them more infuriating than enjoyable. It's unfortunate because the core concept of the game is solid, but these technical issues ruin the experience. I hope the developers can address these problems in a future patch because the potential for a great game is definitely there.
Wouldnt recommend this at all. This could be a fun game but the momentum of each swing is messed up. It is completely random how each swing will behave. Sometimes the disappearing swing points will fling u up, other times youll drop like a sack of rocks. If the momentum gets fixed this could be a fun game.
