Delayed for 3 years and this is what we get... this is certainly no F-Zero successor, it has zero graphics or display options, zero explanation of any of the game mechanics, zero campaign, zero gameplay or fun, and that unfortunately means its a big fat zero out of 10 from me.16 found this helpful
Futuristic racing + 10 ships + music = Adrenaline rush 360 degrees pipe racing. Boost, shoot, shield your way to victory. 3 types of races with 16 tracks. Upgrade ships and unlock tracks with $/points.
Follow our curator for similar games
9 found this helpful
Unfortunately it's not the FZero hero we wanted but that's to be half expected by the advertisements; the pipe-tracks are its core feature and while the vehicle handling is quite smooth, the game feels somewhat shallow in its main features. PROs * controller vibration/feedback is a nice touch * vehicle handling is smooth * Main GFX (for the pricerange) are completely fine CONs * From what I can tell, there is only one weapon in the game and the SFX make it feel like it has no real impact * While there are variations on the pipe-style tracks, this also corners the game into a bit of a limited experience in racing variety - you won't have jumps/stunts, choke-points, or anything else apart from what you see. * Menu seems rushed; I'm not normally concerned with a menu options if it miraculously runs the exact way I want it :P - however it can imply that the developers are not particularly concerned with the user's overall experience. Overall, the biggest issue this game suffers from is variety; yeah there's a lot of tracks and vehicles, but cookie-cutter has been somewhat applied to a majority of it. If it were in early access and/or showed some evidence that the game is still bein…4 found this helpful
"I’ve enjoyed my time with Gravity Chase. It’s a pretty solid indie racing game that doesn’t break the bank. The game may not have a very wide array of gameplay modes to play but what is available is fun and it offers a few hours of entertainment for a cheap price." Fast racing game with great music and tracks where your driving skills don't really matter. Grabbing the first place involves hitting blue speed pads while avoiding red brake pads. You gain access to a boost ability after finishing the first lap, which you may replenish by grabbing floating icons. Although driving is simple and you can't fall off, damage is still possible and can cause your ship to explode. There are three speed classes with ships that don't look that much different. All ships are available right away and can be upgraded several times to boost the chances of victory. The game doesn't have any career or championship, only single races. New tracks are unlocked by earning money. The faster class you pick, the faster you earn it. The objective of the game is to earn first place with all classes on all tracks. The interesting part is that you can select what type of race you want. There is a race with weapons, an elimination round, and the classic race. The bad part is that tracks look too similar. All take place inside or outside a tube, the only difference is the environment that passes by so fast you don’t even have time to notice the details. Gravity Chase doesn…1 found this helpful
Whether it's meant to be or not this is actually a successor to the Gamecube game Tube Slider, a mostly forgotten anti-gravity racing game that only a few people have actually played, including me. What's really interesting is the inherit flaws with Tube Slider also apply to Gravity Chase; the tunnel track design prevents variation in track design, most tracks suffer from monotony because there's no jumps, alternative paths, shortcuts, or in-world obstacles besides some red panels that can be obscured by the track's RGB Epic Gamer Lighting. Think of a combat or kart racing game's items acting like a tool set for the player: each one can be used for unique situations and strategies. In Gravity Chase there is only one weapon and only one shield. When it comes to offensive and defensive play it is exactly like this: fire your oddly-sounding yellow pellets at the enemy and hope they don't have their shield on. Pick up a shield to prevent getting hit. Rinse and repeat. If you get ahead, nobody can stop you: No rockets, shocks like from Blur or even blue shells like from Mario Kart can balance the race whatsover. There no other weapons like trap items or really anything else you can wor…
