The graphics are, of course, quite dated as one would expect of a game this old but the interface is nice and it is a fun tactical game. I remember enjoying it 30 years ago and have like being able to pick it up and remember it from days gone by. It's not shiny and glitzy but it's fun.8 found this helpful
Great Naval Battles: The Final Fury, developed by IO Design Group and Divide By Zero Software and published by SNEG, is best understood not as a modern release but as a preserved compilation of classic naval warfare simulations from an earlier era of PC gaming. It brings together multiple entries from the Great Naval Battles series, spanning both World War I and World War II, and presents them largely intact for contemporary audiences. As a result, the experience feels less like a newly designed strategy game and more like stepping into a time capsule of 1990s simulation design—complete with its depth, ambition, and rough edges. One of the most striking aspects of the package is its sheer scope. Players are given access to a wide range of historical scenarios and full-scale campaigns across different theaters of war. From commanding fleets in the Atlantic to coordinating operations in the Pacific, the game offers a broad view of naval conflict across two major global wars. It allows you to engage at multiple levels, whether you prefer issuing high-level strategic commands or taking more direct control of individual ships during combat. This layered approach gives the game a sense …3 found this helpful
Hello. Life long gamer. Started off on AH board games like Panzer leader and Squad leader. Moved on to harpoon on PC and other wargames. I have had this specific game for a few weeks and am totally lost. I cannot figure out much of it. the instructions help you understand the mechanics but don't detail any game play. All I end up doing is driving my ship around and around and I never run into anyone and then a pop up box says "the game is over". Would appreciate any help and thank you.2 found this helpful
You need to start with the manual because the game is very old school and for a very niche group of gamers.2 found this helpful
