About Gundroid

Enjoy a modern take on a classic genre. Gundroid is more than just a throwback. This is retro gaming revitalized.

Learn enemy attack patterns and react quickly to stay one step ahead of the invading forces. Shoot, dodge, jump, and counter their every advance.

Power up your experience with weapons tailor-made for every situation. Find your favourite playstyle or experiment with them all.

Battle your way through diverse stages as you protect every part of the hand-drawn, pixel art landscapes of New Port City.

Fuel your fight with the bespoke metal soundtrack. Thrashing guitars and pulsing drums propel you forward through enemy forces. This is the genre as it was always meant to be heard.

Gundroid is one of the best contra inspired games ever made, the action is fast, controls are tight, and the level design just takes you from one kick ass scene to the next. This game is at least as good as blazing chrome, which is the highest compliment I can give it, but nobody knows about it. This game is a criminally under rated masterpiece, if you want to check out the first 2 levels of gamplay, watch the video, or just skip it and buy this game immediately, you will not regret it!! Ignore the low playtime, I played through the majority of the game offline https://youtu.be/kl2tIYQwcGs?si=gS9xhYJbrE3yHf-z

Be careful - this game teleports you back to the times where games required you to aquire some skills. The difficulty is high, but the "just one more try" loop is incredibly addictive and never feels cheap. While solo play is solid, the local 2-player mode is the real soul of the experience. There’s nothing quite like the shared adrenaline of finally clearing a hellish stage with a friend (or son in my case). this game basically stripped every great idea from the snes era and packed them into one masterpiece. last but not least.. the retro soundtrack is the perfect finishing touch that pulls the whole experience together

great game that tries to be more probotector than contra but with some minor annoyances. the jump doesn't feel perfect, if u play a lot of contra then u will get it, it has some weird weight at the end of the jump, but u will get used to it. The weapons could be more and one of them is kinda meh. now this is subjective, but the game drags and overstays it's welcome, mostly at the final stage, you will find yourself saying ''this boss won't quit?'' and i really despise that. also the game is way too hard , so good luck on heard mode. but at least the game is generous with checkpoints and infinite continues. get it on sale, it ain't perfect, the sprite is really weird and proportions feels off a bit for some weird reason, like a chibi figure but it's ok. again, good game, just don't expect a contra level game.

'Tis a blast! Game style, graphics, sound + music are exactly what we 90's kids know and love! Kudos to the developers for this splendid title and that it's not just a bang for a buck, but coded with love and passion as the main ingredients. 10/10 would buy and gift again! :D

Such a good game! Great controls, fun graphics, cool music, has that classic NES / SNES vibe. Reminds me of something "Angry Video Game Nerd" would play (I promise that's not an insult!) I say that because while the game has amazing controls and is nearly flawless in what it's trying to achieve, it is HARD. Hard as dinosaur sh*t!

It gave me the feel of playing the classic Contra. With a hint of probotector. Love it!
