This is probably my most hated game in my library. It's a very weak clone of Bejeweled twist, with none of the polish or mechanical understanding of what makes BT work. With a weak puzzle mechanic, how could you tack anything on top of it? The core is rotten. But they did take poorly understood and poorly made puzzle-quest type mechanics on top, which at best offer a distraction of how awful core game feels; but goes no further in providing interesting choice or gameplay. Since the bad Twist mechanics are too complicated, they auto-cast abilities and spells, leaving no choice for future tactical play to help control the board, when you need it. Imagine pokemon, but where you don't actively do anything but Regen PP, while the pokemon automatically acts as soon as it has enough energy. beyond just a snooze fest, it is a shame this ever got released. Understand, i do not say that lightly, i know people worked really hard on this, and sure my review of a decades old game probably wont hurt any devs, but they obviously ran out of time and or money, and SE had them release what they had. It happens, but usually it's not a detriment to my pysche when a game is bad, but bad …

The game is a very niche puzzle RPG, turning Bejeweled Twist into a combat system with summoned monsters (yes, Pokemon) with more than 15 hours to complete the story. It is very grindy for what it is, but I enjoyed it. It fails for technical reasons because on modern machines certain sound and visual effects from the battle can cause it to crash and it has no internal limiter so it will use 100% of CPU and GPU unless you frame limit it in your GPU's control panel.

Developed by Square Enix in collaboration with PopCap Games and published by Square Enix, Gyromancer is an inventive blend of puzzle-solving and role-playing that successfully combines two genres rarely seen together. Rather than following the traditional turn-based formula associated with fantasy RPGs, the game centers its battles around rotating groups of gems on a puzzle board, creating a combat system that rewards careful planning as much as quick thinking. The result is a unique experience that feels both familiar and refreshingly different, offering something that stands apart from standard role-playing adventures. The story follows Rivel, an experienced summoner who journeys through the mystical Aldemona Wood while pursuing dangerous foes and uncovering the secrets hidden within the enchanted forest. Throughout the campaign, players encounter magical creatures, ancient powers, and mysterious characters that gradually expand the world's lore. While the narrative contains enough intrigue to maintain interest, it primarily serves as a framework for the gameplay rather than being the game's strongest feature. The pacing remains steady, and although the cast may not leave a last…

This is fun, I like the Bejeweled Twist elements mixed in with an RPG since I like both! If you like both Bejeweled Twist and RPGs, chanced are you will also really like this game!

Oof, what a janky game. It's like this was created by 1 person as a project for their college class or something. Needed so much more work and so many more QC passes. Avoid this one.
