I want every CG of Hijikata burned permanently into my eyeballs1 found this helpful
First of all, this is a sequel, so play a route in Kyoto Winds before picking this up. I have only played the continuation of Hijikata's route in this game, but I was glued to it for hours. The romance of these two games is definitely a slow burn, but feels pretty realistic. I think it's well worth the time to see the pay off. Plus, the non-romantic plot and themes are pretty engaging, too.1 found this helpful
The original Hakuoki was one of the first Otome games I played back on the PSP in 2008 and boy did it ignite something in me. Once I finished playing the OG game I swore to support EVERY single otome game released in the united states and I did. This game holds such a HUGE place in my heart and I have played every version that has been released in English. I'm a sucker for the original boys, especially Heisuke. His and Chizuru's romance is adorable and the one I keep going back to. I wasnt TOO much of a fan of this game being split into the common route and then the romantic route but I get it. This isn't my favorite version but the new romance routes add a freshness to the game. I really need to go back and finish it ^^;1 found this helpful
:)
This is part two of the game, Kyoto is part one. For anyone confused it's because this was ported to PC from PSVita. I always will love Hakuoki as it being the first otome game I got into when it released NA for PSP. I still own the box set I got. Now, this game has issues, and a lot of them are tech related because of it being ported over and them not caring that much about fixing those issues. Black screens, game crashing ect. Most of them got resolved for me by running in admin and changing the games compatability mode to win 8 or older. If you are interested in getting into otome as a whole, this story is a great starting point, you can even persue the villian. I'm strongly biased because of his voice actor being my fave japanese voice actors ever. I just wish the two games where listed as one and connected because for PC it doesn't make sense to have them seperate, it's just a waste of time, especially for those that buy one not knowing. It's not clear unless you jump into the reviews.
This is a must if you played the first game, this will give some nice or bittersweet endings of your favorite characters. I feel the translation is still a little wonky but the art and voice acting is what impacts here.
