Hand of Fate: Hordes

once of the most interesting Bullet Heavveans in a while, combines the genre with hand of fate well.

Fun and replayable roguelike. Satisfying upgrades and abilities. Tactical enemy dynamite drop system. Quests and side-objectives to weigh up during dungeon runs. Some boss difficulty balancing issues in early access.

I'm sorry, but what the hell is this game... Probably one of the worst I've played in the genre...

I haven't played a lot of it, so take everything I say with a grain of salt. Also keep in mind it's still in early access, so things could change. That being said... It's okayish. I generally play this game in small sessions of 30 minutes, and so far I enjoy it, particularly the story and the art style. That was always their strength. But I have to say: it is grindy as hell! The blessings usually give you like +2 - 10% in anything, but that doesn't feel like much as the enemies get stronger at around the same rate. There are runs where you get OP and have a blast, but they are few and far in between. Also of note: you can farm shards to improve your stats between runs, but this is also grindy as ♥♥♥♥. Would love a rebalance of this tbh. What I absolutely despise is the combat system. I know this is a spin-off game, and I know that they're trying to do something different with the IP. But MAN, if this had the same free-flowing combat system as Hand of Fate, I wouldn't mind the grindiness nearly as much. As of right now, it doesn't feel like you're actually fighting the enemies. It's alright. It's not an amazing game, it doesn't even do what it does better than the others, but Hand of Fate is a good IP and the way they handle it is decent. Still would rather have had a Hand of Fate 3 by miles though
