Slay the Horde

Cool being able to see the full skill tree & easily re-spec, with character selection in the center. Was expecting nodes further from the center to be stronger & cost more, but instead mostly comparable except for Keystones (unique bonuses) along the edges with ALL nodes gradually increasing in cost as we unlock more. Different than expected, but balanced/cool. Good variety in spells too, but there are some that will kill you without Vampirism (Life Leech) & others which are useless without complimentary spell (Elemental Charge?), those seem quite strong. Only complaint is that selecting "Skip" if nothing you like on Card selection, gives you nothing. Would be nice to get some gold to re-roll the next set of cards if needed OR to put towards upgrading a card in my deck (10 gold spire/monolith). Not much of a tutorial, but was cool to figure out, mouse-over cards pauses the game & allows re-mapping the Key to activate that spell. Assuming right-click is discard? Lightweight game, 20-45 FPS on 8GB DDR3 RAM & 2GB VRAM. After 34m was a bit hotter than usual so had to take a break, but no visible stuttering/lag. Nice.

I have only played two runs so far, so this will only include my thoughts so far, but I do really enjoy it, as someone who has played alot of survivorlikes in the past and plans on playing alot more in the future, this feels like a very nice change of pace with the deckbuilding and card playing. I really enjoy how the playing of the cards has been handled with the options of hot-keying or using the mouse and everything else pausing, feels good

I came into Slay the Horde for a first look on stream and ended up having a really good time with it. It understands what makes this style of game fun: throw a ridiculous amount of enemies at you, give you ways to become increasingly powerful, and keep tempting you into “just one more run.” There’s enough going on with the builds and progression to keep you thinking about what you want to do next, but it never gets in the way of the simple fun of mowing through a horde and watching your build come together. It’s also the kind of indie game I love playing on stream. Easy to jump into, easy to understand, and before long you realize you’ve are rushing to get to work on time! If you enjoy horde survival games and watching a character go from struggling to completely out of control, Slay the Horde is absolutely worth checking out. Recommended.

A wonderful game mixing a deckbuilder and a survivorlike. I love wizards and mages so having a game entirely focused on the manipulation of magic is great fun. It kind of feels like playing a survivorlike MtG game but without the branding Can't recommend enough

I like this game.

The game is really fun and unique. I'm having a blast playing it. My only complaint and problem i ran into was fps drops and optimization, the game has a LOT of particles flying around all the time, so some times it lags and the fps drops quite a bit.
