About Haywire on Fuel Station Zeta

At last! The space adventure you didn't know you were waiting to play!

An astronaut drifts through space, low on fuel and facing oblivion, manages to dock on an abandoned station. His only hope to refuel his ship and escape is a lone maintenance bot, the sole functioning unit on a station that has gone haywire. Can you guide the robot to victory, or will you succumb to the dangers of Station Zeta?

In the tradition of old school games like Altered Space or Solstice, this isometric puzzle platformer will push you to your limits. Chocked full of tough jumps, deadly traps, and crazy robots--you will breathe a sigh of relief as you make your way, room-by-room, through your quest. That is, if your battery doesn't run out...

· See reasonable special effects!
· See depravity in zero gravity!
· See robots that look like cans and barrels that look like cans!
· Open doors with keycards that come in any color you want (as long as you want red, green or blue)!

Haywire on fuel station zeta...a totally spaced adventure!

Tags: 3PP - Third Person Platformer Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Requires Manual Install of Java. Security risk. Low quality poor controls platformer in a confusing room based system. Pathfinding of foes is poor. Not much else to add - I fired up a youtube video because I could not be arsed to install and uninstall Java. Was not impressed by what I saw. Basically just a very long easter egg hunt across a ton of room loosely held together by doors and tubes. The foes would randomly walk into walks or bump into each other. The isometric perspective along with stiff controls led the youtuber to constantly fall to his death. Not in a meatboy kind of way either. Just looked really clunky and frustrating. Removed local content permanently and hiding from library for declutter.

+ Keyboard controls are accurate - when you get used to them. + Game doesn´t hold your hand of what to do. + Nice art style. + Wonky soundtrack. - Not a good save system - save points are too far away from each other. There should be a choice of whether you want to save in every room, every few rooms or in no room at all. - If you die in a room you don´t continue in this room. BR - buy recommended...when it is in a bundle.

On first glance this game reminded me of old isometric platformers like Solstice, but it has too many basic playability issues that prevent it from being a nostalgic replica of those classic games. The controls are floaty and have an unresponsive, delayed feel to them. The game also has glaring problems with invisible collision, like the fact that you often get stuck on doorways and have to jump through them. There are also invisible walls in some areas that block you for no apparent reason. For the amount of effort that went into building the game's environments, it's puzzling that the developer would neglect to polish up the fundamental gameplay mechanics. If the game had been in early access or a new release I'd have hoped for updates to fix these problems, but it doesn't look like there will be any more development on this title which is too bad because it does seem like there is a decent game hiding somewhere in this mess. Visually the game is very bland and uniformly gray in most places, and what little color there is is flat and has a plastic look to it. The art direction isn't just minimalist, it seems almost untextured and just plain incomplete. This would have been beara…
