About Heliopedia

Heliopedia is a game about terraforming planets. Take control of your own solar system, and terraform planets however you see fit!

In the game, you use a faux-realistic chemistry system to find unique combinations and do discoveries. These discoveries are added to the Heliopedia: an in-game encyclopedia, that gives more information about each object. The game follows the story of a friendly sun in the middle of your universe, who gives you new items for the discoveries you make. If you feed it its favorite snack, like coal or ashes, it will spit out a new planet for you to terraform!

Will you create beautiful ocean planets, grass plains and rain forests? Or breed destruction with wildfires, volcanos and thunder storms?

This game made me realize that I was never meant to be a god, as only very basic life forms can survive under my care. The highest life forms I managed to sprout were three worms, one snake, and a singular banana tree entirely by chance. This game has some really cool vibes but they are hard to reach when every ecosystem I create collapses into mush.
Cute, Reasonably Educational, Great for all ages
Fun, calming, and a safe game to play with or around small children. Heliopedia is a great addition to anyone's library, whether you have a Doctorates in Biology or are just old enough to grasp the idea of chemistry.

Heliopedia is a quietly ambitious sandbox experience that distills planetary creation, ecology, and experimentation into a compact but surprisingly deep simulation. Developed and published by Sokpop Collective, the game reflects the studio’s signature approach: deceptively simple presentation layered over systems that reward curiosity, patience, and playful tinkering. Rather than offering a structured campaign or explicit goals, it invites players to become cosmic gardeners, shaping entire worlds and observing how life emerges—or collapses—based on the smallest decisions. The premise places you in control of a miniature solar system anchored by a sentient star. By feeding the star various resources, you generate new planets—blank slates ready to be transformed. From there, the experience becomes one of guided experimentation. You adjust atmospheres, seed land and oceans, introduce plants and animals, and manipulate elemental balances, all while trying to coax a planet toward stability. The game doesn’t overwhelm with tutorials; instead, it gently nudges players to learn through cause and effect, turning every success or failure into a lesson about how its systems interlock. What …
