Hell Dive

For the price of admission, Hell Dive is definitely worth a purchase if you're looking for a unique horror experience. Visuals can be sort of odd in a charming way, but still induce some horrifying moments without cheap jumpscares. Learning to operate the submarine is simple but rewarding and the experience as a whole doesn't overstay its welcome. A great choice if you're looking for something a little different.

I very much enjoyed this game. It took me about 4 hours to finish it and had just enough difficulty that it was fun without it being overly confusing. I did have a hard time learning some of the controls (dropping things) at first, but once I hit the settings option and saw the controls I realized what it was. There were a couple of spots in the game that were difficult to figure out but once I did it was obvious. There was one part where I had to exit and reload due to the fact that I was just STUCK. I had come back up to the top of the Office section and realized too late that I didn't grab the card, when I went back down it took me to the bottom of the Office but then my flashlight died and I was in the dark unsure where to go. I put my back to a wall and just stepped sideways but made it all the way around without finding anything so restarted that level. Once I figured out what I had messed up it was fine. I like the pace of the game, has you on edge its got a good mix of enemies, some chase, some lurk, good game for horror game lovers. the sub driving too was kinda nerve wrecking I liked it a lot.

It's a pretty solid little experience that was clearly inspired by Iron Lung. You navigate from location to location in a sub turning on power and collecting audio logs. Each location has a different aesthetic and some spooky things going on. There is no combat per se, but one section requires the use of a fire extinguisher to defend yourself. Puzzles are simple (mostly just finding key cards and refilling power generators) and never really slow down the pacing. The game is definitely dragged down by the chatbot voice acting and generally awful story. The ending is pretty bad too. You get about 2 hours worth of content, which is fair for the price. I liked it, but didn't love it. I hope the dev makes something a bit more complex on their next one.

very fun retro horror walking sim. amazing, creepy vibes. that skeleton really got me good!
