About Hell is Us

Hell is Us is a 3rd-person action-adventure game that combines intense melee combat with the thrill of exploration. Explore a semi-open world to find answers to your questions and face mysterious creatures all along your journey.

A HOSTILE WORLD

As well as the civil war dividing the country, the region is suffering from a mysterious calamity, which has given rise to supernatural creatures that no modern weapon can defeat. Your drone and sword from a different age are your faithful allies as you cut a path through lands infested with terrifying chimeras and try to unravel the mystery of their appearance.

A UNIQUE EXPLORATION SYSTEM

No map, no compass, no quest markers: following your instincts is part of the adventure. Enjoy a unique experience that uses innovative writing and level design to let you make your own decisions and follow your instincts as you explore. Your discoveries are yours alone.

COMBAT AGAINST ORIGINAL CREATURES

Swords, spears and axes: a wide range of weapons forged specially for fighting these supernatural creatures is available. You will need to learn how to fight these monsters and use your drone wisely to stay alive.

''The central theme of Hell is Us is that human violence is a perpetual cycle fueled by human emotions and passions.'' – Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, Creative Director

Just 100%'d the game, was absolutely obsessed with the world building, it was the sole reason I kept playing. The combat just sort of exists, it's passable, it's got an interesting Nioh ki pulse mechanic, but the scaling is completely off, and the enemy variety is extremely small, and there are exactly ZERO bosses in the game, which is wild to say the least for a souls-like game, but GOOD THING this game isn't a soulslike, so for anyone wanting a souls experience, you are not getting it with this. This game is for people that want to explore, have minimal hand holding apart from the notes your character takes, and enjoy some well thought out puzzles, great voice acting and dialog, with an amazing (and dark) atmosphere and world, but the combat ain't it. Some pretty egregious achievements as well, if you're looking to 100% it, you will probably need to do multiple saves unless you look it up before hand. p.s Rogue Factor, Please write books on this world, I will read them all. Highly recommend, especially at $20. I probably wouldn't pay $50, get it while its on sale.

I wouldn't take the negative comments seriously about this game. Honestly a lot of them seem written by people with no attention span or memory retention. Occasionally I got hung up on a puzzle here or there, combat continued to be fun throughout the game for me and y'know, becoming a human beyblade in a souls-like was pretty funny towards the end. This game was great, I got it on sale for $20. I can see myself replaying this again in the future. The world design and the lore were very cool, especially combining the dark futuristic aesthetic with this scary otherworldly cult religion theme.

This game is awesome, and it does what so few AAA studios can't: Good writing and world building. Yes, it lacks some of the bells and whistles of large budget massive titles like a more in depth combat system and other items, but if you want to put your headphones on late at night and get totally immersed in a dark mature story THIS IS THE GAME FOR YOU. Also, the soundtrack absolutely slaps whoever made it is amazing.

It is shameful that you haven't added Arabic to the game. I suppose even something as simple as that is too difficult for you to include in an update—it's absolutely laughable.
