Hellpoint

This is definitely a souls-like game. It reminds me of Bleak Faith mixed with Dark Souls in space. It has a moderate amount of weapons and catalysts. Each weapon has special movesets and unlockable skills/passives. I had no idea that my weapon was unlocking skills after defeating enemies. Weapons have their own skill bar in the menu when you highlight the weapon in your inventory. And many weapons unlock special movesets/powers that you'll have to slot in manually. Hold D-pad for left or right hand and you'll be able to slot in the new powers you've unlocked for the weapon. Those new powers for weapons use EP (energy points) which has no info in the menu on how much EP it uses. There's plenty of armor sets to try but many are too heavy and stat hungry. There is one armor set that has a special use on a certain map. The maps are great; there's so many branching pathways and ridiculous secrets. I've never seen so many secrets packed into souls map. You will need to look up guides on how to navigate some of these maps. There's just too many secrets and hidden items. Black hole hour and Accretion storm events are 2 different things. Cool setting and concept, but just plays like an unfinished dark souls.

After decent progress in the game I can confidently say, this is a very well made game, and its clear that lot of love was put into it, with rich lore, cool armors, weapons, movesets, decent bosses and very strong atmosphere as a futuristic, space/cosmic horror soulslike game. 100% would recommend. My only complaint would be that coop is a little hard to set up if you have certain type of network, but with DMZ on it works fine. The game itself is amazing, definitely I would recommend it for any soulslike lover.

Well I have never really liked souls-like games and this didn't unfortunately change my mind. I would not recommend for gamers like me, but those souls fanatics should have a good time.

If you're familiar with the souls style, you'll be fine. It's not a hard game, but it can be a bit frustrating with some of the glitches. I was able to play entirely in coop and it was good, but that may have been the cause of some of the bugs.

Comprei esperando um Soulslike no espaço. Recebi um pesadelo cósmico onde cada corredor parece dizer: "Você tem certeza de que quer continuar?" Hellpoint é como se Dark Souls, Event Horizon e um encanamento industrial abandonado tivessem tido um filho extremamente mal-humorado. A estação espacial é um labirinto gigantesco, cheio de atalhos, segredos e criaturas que claramente acordaram decididas a estragar o seu dia. A sensação de exploração é fantástica, principalmente quando você finalmente entende como aquele monte de corredores se conecta. O combate é pesado, exige paciência e, como manda a tradição do gênero, pune qualquer excesso de confiança. A melhor parte é que o jogo raramente pega na sua mão. A pior parte é que o jogo raramente pega na sua mão. Você passa boa parte do tempo pensando: "Será que estou indo para o lugar certo?" A resposta costuma ser: "Provavelmente não... mas agora já foi." Apesar de algumas arestas técnicas e de um orçamento claramente menor que o dos gigantes do gênero, Hellpoint compensa com personalidade, atmosfera e uma ambientação que consegue ser tão fascinante quanto perturbadora.
