Hexagon Puzzle Blocks

"Hexagon Puzzle Blocks" is more shovelware from NanningsGames, famous for dumping free games onto Steam with a price tag in an attempt to scam PC gamers into paying money for things they could get for free. This also isn't free, it's "donationware". And wow, it's barely a game... just drag and drop tiles onto a grid. Pointless and valueless, so it's no surprise it failed to garner any attention from gamers. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs and the latest 3D graphics cards to play 2D games. Even mobile phones and game consoles can do 3D graphics now. There's no excuse. This is only free in a rudimentary sense... the developer has their hand out for a $2 USD "donation" for this as you're expected to buy some extra DLC from Steam... digital panhandling. Like the homeless guys who splash dirty water on your windscreen at the traffic lights. No thanks. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 4 concurrent players... this is a dismal public recepti…

Game is very simplistic to start. Hardest part was getting the pieces to align so they would sit in the right spot. After level 40 it got more interesting, but not really difficult. Capped at level 60. Which was really disappointing. The rest of the levels and half the achievements are in the expansion pack which you have to pay for. Not a promising payment given that 60 levels only took 17 mins. I assume the remaining 100 odd levels would take a bit more effort.

Great small puzzle game, completed it in just about an hour. 60 levels for free, and over 160 levels for about $3. I have not got the DLC, but I will update this if I do. Would recommend as a little time killer.

A pleasant game that delivers exactly what it promises.

There is only one complaint I have for this game: Some of the color choices make it hard to tell if spots have been filled. Otherwise, it is a delightful puzzle game with a very gentle difficulty curve. And I have to give props to the UI design- the resolution menu specifically! It may be a single button, but you see the changes immediately and you can take your time looking at the change before you decide if it's good for you or not. After multiple games where getting a resolution that worked for both me and my monitor was a pain when not impossible? It is so good to see a system that was both simple, and [i]actually[/i] Just Works. 10/10, excellent way to spend 20-ish minuets

Fun enough. But I burned through 60 levels in 34 minutes. So maybe not the best time-killer.
