This is a really neat experience, even without VR, but it feels mostly like a tech demo. Experience the trippy world of Hong Kong Obscure, find the nearest phone and get your objective, a timer starts, which also gives you a direction where you find said objective. Bring it back to the phone, rinse and repeat. you are armed with a flashlight, only with it you can see things that stay otherwise hidden. You can shoot balls around which feel like fireworks and are needed to dispose of some entities. Switching from the gun to the wire allows you to attach yourself to a frisbee you can throw and all the neon signs you can find. Its very fun to do so. Now I call this a tech demo because you have a few toys to play around with and repetitive objectives, and shows you what it can, but does not really do a lot with it, and the city is a ghost town. You could add minigames, shooting ranges, or parkour courses for the wire, theres a lot that could be implemented, which is maybe the case in the future. But it being a tech demo is not a bad thing at all, its still very enjoyable, if not a bit pricy. Lets see what the future holds. H.K.O. is, to it's fault and merits, a true statement to the word "obscure". The game is hard to understand; objectives, history and when and whys, but it doesn't retract from how good it looks. Hong Kong looks absolutely menacing while empty and devoid of life, making it far creepier than it should. The lantern provides a kind of glitch effect that is nothing but short of impressive. Runs perfectly well on Steam Deck as you can see by pressing the link below: https://youtu.be/E0uWwJgz77I3 found this helpful

Hong Kong Obscure is paid VR walking simulator. It worked on my Index and HTC Vive system, sounded ok, played ok, looked ok. Wandering around at night in a strange city (Hong Kong). Maybe buy, if you like walking simulators. I got a free key for this from the Steam Curator program. Playing in VR (Quest3, VD), amazing enviroinment. Sincerelly as I played the first time yes I was amazed by the ambience, a neon light glowing HongKong city that looks stunning but I had no clue of what to do. It seemed that your belt gadgets were just toys to use randomly and see the effect; basically game looks like just a walking simulator. But I wanted to dig and understand better if there is something to do. As you start the game you are in your home base where you have two screens: a map with some dots (this seems unuseful as you cannot carry it out) and a list of documents found to print, a number of documents to look for (this part is not very clear). At first I just walked ramdomly and found a couple of documents but the game was all here? I spent some more time and here a few things I did for now (spoilers, I try to put some game mechanics): [spoiler] first I switch my torch on and leave it (it will follow your sight): it will show hidden things; about other tools there is a kind of shooting stick, a frisbee (can be thrown or shot) and a white glow artifact that at first I could not find a use. Well this is like a magnet elastic hook that can be gripped to light signs …1 found this helpful
Interesting game with a lot of potential. Awesome, mysterious, encapsulating world with mysteries abound. Very addicting and fun movement. The game somewhat relaxes you but yet keeps you on the edge of your seat. Overall pretty cooool!1 found this helpful
