I actually really want to like this game, but as it stands I can't even play it past the tutorial because it stutters so bad that there is no hope of any kind of fluid game play. And I have an amazing pc, and tried to check out some runtime stuff, but I shouldnt have to do that for a game.

HOPE 01 is a very interesting game thus far, one I'd highly recommend! One of the few extraction shooters where I genuinely feel like I am working towards something. The story leaves me wanting to explore. I do find myself excited whenever I find something new to scan (as well as devastated when I die with said item before I get an opportunity to scan it). The gameplay loop is satisfying in a wonderful way I think the "upsetting" factor that comes with all extraction shooters is balanced well! It's not such a devastating loss that the game feels unplayable and unfair, but it also isn't a tiny loss that you barely notice. Losing in this game feels like a good amount of "harsh," the kind you'd want out of an extraction shooter. Visually, the game feels good. The HUD is easy to read and unobtrusive. The controls are intentionally a little bit clunky, but in a way that feels nice. Very easy to navigate if you are calm, yet also easy to screw up if you are panicking. If that's not your speed, the controls are also very customizable! Any complaints I have about the game are nitpicks. Ending conversations with NPCs feels a little odd, simply walking away with a dialogue box open takes …

Wonderful atmosphere, feels tense and interesting. I agree with others that have said, that for it being labeled early access it has some amazing polish.
