Humans Vs Orcs

This game feels very empty. Content seems to end after an hour. Not worth 5 bucks. Go see a movie.

Could be a fun little Age of War style game with a couple hours of gameplay but there are a LOT of annoying QoL issues and menu problems with this one. TLDR; The game is poorly scaled, poorly explained, and lacks a sense of reward or risk. Losing means nothing, winning means nothing. To get into more detail: - Unlocking new units doesn't work past the first 5, you'll be unlocking units as you progress but there is no way to actually use them. You simply get the first 5 and there doesnt seem to be a way to switch them out. - The skulls mechanic is not explained well at all and is quite frustrating until you figure it out. - There isn't a real loss condition which takes away the rogue-like feeling that the dev is presumably going for, you just back out when you can't beat a level. Dragons force you to back-out and restart but aren't a rewarding mechanic. - Chests mean nothing, some have new units (which you have no way of using) and others just contain "boss defeated". You defeat a boss to open a chest and inside the chest is just a message saying you defeated the boss? Strange choice. - Early game scaling is rough, give the players a few rounds to win before they need to back out…

My opinions are my own and getting the product for free does not guarantee a good or bad review.[/i] I don't fully recommend this game, but also, I won't say skip it. It sits on neutral ground. It's short overall but it has potential in the future. The concept is solid (though has been done my times before). The problem is there is no direction as to what you are supposed to do. At one point, I just kept failing over and over on purpose to build up money to then advance. Not sure if this is the method or not since there was no tutorial. I think with some polish, this would be a fun game. For now, I'd say skip it and watch for updates / improvements. I'll update my review in the future if the game gets updated.

not to bad take a while to get into it

Not bad! I got all the upgrades in about two hours. As others have mentioned, there's not really much of a tutorial, and I spent way longer than I should have failing waves to store up money, BUT there are meta-progression upgrades at the main menu you're supposed to buy to get further in the game. There's not really any indication after completing/failing a wave that there are more upgrades than just the ones you can buy with gold, but you have to go back to the main menu to see them. $4.99 may be pushing it for the amount of play time I got out of this one and all the AI assets (as mentioned in the disclaimer), but it's a pretty okay game. Reminds me a lot of Age of War and other classic flash games.
