VERY fun game once you get into the groove. I may have just found an optimal strategy, but I beat the game fairly quickly. would love to see some NG+ runs that add different modifiers. Clearer progression goals would also be nice, with stars above ships that you've completed. Similarly I still don't really know what chips do what, it would be nice to get some text on screen explaining what they are on pickup. Overall it's a great sign that my biggest complaint is wanting more reasons to play!

I've been following Hyperwired since it was just a demo, and I love how it turned out. I think the combination of strategy, bullet hell, and especially the plug mechanic makes for a very complete and, above all, challenging game. I've only been playing for an hour and I still haven't been able to unlock all the ships, but I'm really looking forward to seeing how far I can go by managing all the skills (and let's not forget the bullet time, which can save your life at the last moment).

I was very impressed by the level of visual polish and the game feel was excellent. In the limited time I had with the game, I don't think I quite understood the appeal of the plug mechanics, but perhaps with more playtime it would click. At first, the way you manage your ship feels restrictive, but that limitation becomes the reason every encounter feels tense. You’re constantly making decisions, adapting your strategy, and finding new ways to survive. It’s a great example of a game taking a familiar genre and adding a twist that completely changes how you approach it.

The plugging system is a fresh and interesting mechanic that both makes for the game progression as well as allowing for periods of increased vulnerability by forcing you to be tethered from time to time, limiting your ability to evade pressure. Exquisite soundtrack and soundscape as well as great animations compliments extremely well the experience. I truly had a good time here!
