I Wanna Be A Game Dev!

This was... kind of bland, I guess. I don't think it's a bad game, but it never really surprised me. The mystery was decent enough, though I saw the "plot twist" coming a mile away, and the main villain ended up feeling pretty generic. I get the message the story was trying to tell, and I can appreciate it, but the execution just didn't do much for me. That said, I still enjoyed exploring the world. The atmosphere has a nostalgic charm, and the soundtrack fits it really well. There are also plenty of optional interactions if you like paying attention to small details. Still, this is a free game with an additional DLC, so it's hard to complain too much. I wouldn't say I don't recommend it. It didn't fully click with me, but if the premise interests you, it's probably worth trying for yourself.

It's pretty fun game i would say, the idea of developing a game... uh.. inside of a game is an idea that i didnt expect seeing. the characters are pretty fun as well, and it's honestly a very good life sim game really! my only complain is not on the game itself, rather on graphics instead, in it's 3d version on it, there's a lot of pixels and jagged edges, so what im hoping is on the next state of the game update, i hope they would add an anti-aliasing feature in the settings to fix all that jagged edges. Overall... Pretty good game! although needs graphical tweaking and anti-aliasing (oh and if a dev of this game sees my review here, please take notice and reply to my review once updated! :p)

Its. Not. Real. This might be a more personalized review, but I thought I would share a story instead of a regular review, I don't want to spoil the game for anyone so here it goes: [Spoiler]In my senior year of High School, there was a Video Game Production class (we went to an art school). And four of us had taken the class before in our previous year. This was the only class of its kind, so most of it was all stuff we already did before, we all took it just to fill an elective. (And who doesn't want to work on video games at school?) So instead of all of us doing the same stuff over again, so we made a deal with the teacher to make a single game for the entire year instead of following the lesson plan. We worked on a game that featured a stranded pirate named Larry, attempting to escape a deserted island. It was stupid, crudely made on Blender Game Engine (yikes), and we put so many dumb easter eggs in it. Never released it, I still have a copy, sitting on my Google Drive. It's completely unplayable unless you download an ancient version of Blender with the game engine functionality, and even the entire thing is a jumbled mess. I found this game in the free section of Steam one day and all I say is that I'm glad that I have played it. I really enjoyed my time the base game and the DLC, with the base game being full of fun and heart-warming moments with the game development club whilst the DLC leans into a more personal and serious tone. The side stories are filled with many enjoyable elements too while providing some lore of the game. Technical questions relating to programming, art and music are asked in the game during the morning classroom segments, which are very game dev-related questions. I'm excited to see and play the sequel to this game from the developers one day and that I think more people should consider giving it a go. P.S I find Amelia adorable and my favourite ♥ - design-wise and personality-wise.

As someone who doesn't play many visual novels, this game was a pleasant surprise. The fact that it's free makes it even more impressive. It's truly a hidden gem among the sea of free-to-play anime games on Steam. It’s better if you play this completely blind, no looking at guides or reviews. It's not just a visual novel, either. It's also a 3D exploration game with visual novel elements. In the latter half, [spoiler]you'll even have to solve a mystery.[/spoiler] It encourages you to pay attention to every detail and every line of dialogue. Even after finishing it, I feel like I've barely scratched the surface because there are so many dialogue options and interactions to discover. The world itself is reminiscent of older-era video games. It gives me a sense of nostalgia while constantly pushing me to explore further. I also want to talk about the music, which fits the setting perfectly. There are plenty of tracks for different situations, mini-games, and events, and they all help bring the world to life.
