It's a short and unremarkable SHMUP, with enemy patterns that usually aren't very interesting. Its main gimmick, which are satellite drones that you configure to shoot to the front/side/rear is also under-utilized and 98% of the time aiming in front of you is the best strategy. ... And there's also a boss that takes 12 seconds to slowly appear, and which you can kill in just ~6 seconds. Level 2 is also a slow and boring side-scroller. While not an exceptional game in any way except for music, ImageStriker is still a quality traditional shmup worthy of many people's time. It features a 6-stage arcade mode and a caravan stage that can be played, the former of which has multiple difficulty settings for beginner shoot'em up players. The graphics aren't that great, they just work, with a low amount of color and background detail. Where the game really shines is in its soundtrack, which just rocks! Listening to it elevates the quality of the game to a bit higher level than it would be otherwise. Gameplay is good, with multiple weapons to pick up, permanent pods next to your ship that can be used to attack enemies, and three adjustable speed settings. It's a good game, and is an excellent choice for beginners to the shmup genre. It is always free on Steam, which helps a lot. It was my introduction to the developer's work. Мне особенно понравилась вариативность изображений и то, как их уникальные свойства влияют на механику игры. Визуальное оформление приятное, яркое и не отвлекает от основного процесса. Звуковое сопровождение ненавязчивое и гармонично дополняет атмосферу игры. Тем не менее, игра могла бы выиграть от добавления более разнообразных режимов и челленджей, чтобы удержать интерес на долгосрочную перспективу. Также не помешала бы полноценная система обучения для новичков, чтобы помочь им быстрее освоиться с тонкостями механики. В целом, 'ImageStriker' - это отличная казуальная игра, которая идеально подходит для коротких игровых сессий и развлечения в дороге. Я определенно рекомендую её всем любителям головоломок и тем, кто ищет что-то новое и необычное.
