Imperivm RTC - HD Edition "Great Battles of Rome"

Look, I love this game. When it first came out on CD, I spent whole afternoons glued to my screen, leading my armies. When the remaster was announced and released on Steam, I hopped on the hype wagon and bought it as soon as it came out. It is as beautiful as I remember. I liked the improvements and did not mind the rebalancing changes. Heck, I am even willing to overlook the need for a VPN to play online. It is a huge pain, but it is worth it. All of that falls flat the second the game crashes mid-match for no clear reason. There is no possibility of long campaigns, I cannot finish a simple game with friends, and I cannot get invested because I know I will be blueballed at random moments. To summarize, it is an amazing game dragged down by poor execution.

This game brought me right back to those childhood afternoons in front of the PC, when repeating the same mission a thousand times didn't matter as long as you could crush Rome or give the Germans a try. It has that flavor from back when developers aimed to make a genuinely good game rather than just another game with shiny graphics. What I liked most is that it still gets straight to the point: recruit, group up, unleash heroes, and conquer, without wasting half an hour building structures. The battles feel fast-paced, and the heroes with their unique abilities add that addictive hook. It might not revolutionize the genre, but it delivers and keeps you glued to the screen.

A childhood classic murdered in plain view. Instead of fixing what was broken (aka multiplayer) they somehow added new issues such as units not attacking selected target (mainly your archers) and the ai can dupe artifacts ??? I bought the steam version hoping to be able to play with my friends but online is even worse than the cd version

I played the original with the Spanish voicing, this is good but there somehow it does not do justice to the original, not sure what it is, just gives me that vibe
