This is a "fast-paced" action platformer with sort-of tight controls and some super basic combat mechanics. Jumps are modeled after Meat Boy, very floaty and no height variance -- not that there's anything wrong with that. There's a reason that precision platformers copy Meat Boy, because it got the controls pretty perfect. Unfortunately, where the game got the basic jump physics right, it botched the walljumping physics a bit; it's easy to scale walls, but trying to bounce off of walls will often get your inputs dropped. Still, controls are decent at worst. Also, "fast-paced" in quotation marks. Inukari - Chase of Deception is a 2D Action Platformer about Inukari, the guardian of all forests and ventures on a mission to find the source of corruption that has overtaken the other guardians. The game is pretty short and fun, the pixel art is also very nice and caught my attention. There are many platforming sections but they are okay even if you're an average platformer player. The music and soundtracks were very relaxing and during the boss fights it was very engaging. The boss fights were not very challenging however, I enjoyed each single one of them. This is a very well made Action Platformer made by a solo developer "Kai Kieschnick", If you love this genre of games then It's a nice recommendation. Overall Rating 10/10

got the wrong game

Short, Sweet, and simple. Really nice soundtrack and fun platforming.

i saw the first 5 seconds of the trailer and it was an Impulsive buy.

Not a *great* game by any stretch...but at the price point, I think we've all payed more for less. ( Read the "Controls and Movement" portion further below if you *do* end up getting this game.) Game can be beaten in under two hours, not counting the Boss Rush and Time Attack features you unlock once you beat the game for the first time. Which isn't *much,* but hey. Levels are artificially big due to having wide open areas and long stretches without much going on, and little variety in stage mechanics and gimmicks. The visual design takes the same "minimalism:" there's really just not a lot going on. It's pretty for a little while and then it gets stale. Controls and movement are a mixed bag. - Jump is consistently floaty, and you get the same height no matter if you hold the key/button down or quickly tap it. This game being a platformer, this feels like a real miss. - Wall jumping is also clumsy; you have to wait until the top of your jump arc to actually *stick* to the wall, and THEN you can jump, which just slows everything down. + The game has a "Dodge" it doesn't tell you about, and which isn't mapped to one of the four face buttons like everything else is.....but it WORKS …
